corrections to the shiplist. Here are his words. The only changes from the May 2003 update are elimination of some model references and corrections to others, and now I have a very stable game. I hope that others find it useful. I have enjoyed the Multi-Era mod very much. Thank you for making it available to the community.
directory is left blank on purpose. You need to browse to the directory where your SFC2 Game is located. If you have used the default installtion directory it is... C:\\Program Files\\Taldren\\Starfleet Command II The models will install directly into the models directory of the game. There will be two other folders created in the Starfleet Command II directory. TOS and ORIG. 1. make backups of the shiplist.txt file in assets\\specs AND the strings and shipnames files in assets\\strings. 2. Delete the shiplist.txt file from assets\\specs AND the strings and shipnames files from assets\\strings. 3. Copy the shiplist.txt file from the TOS folder into assets\\specs. 4. Copy the strings and shipnames files from the TOS folder into assets\\strings. THE ORIG FOLDER CONTAINS THE SAME VERSIONS OF THE ORIGINAL GAME FILES YOU DELETED. Not to worry. I decided not to create batch files for this mod - if you follow the instructions here you will be enjoying TOS ASAP! To play the original game, just copy the shiplist file from the ORIG folder to assets\\specs and the strings and shipnames to assets\\strings. ENJOY!
assetsspecs. IMPORTANT!! 2. This file will automatically detect where SFC2 is on your PC's harddrive. All files will go the proper place. Three new directories will appear in your assetsmodels folder ; tng, tmp, and tosmodels - each folder will have models in it. There'll be a new scr file in assetsscripts for this singleplayer mission. While playing you will see ??? for shipnames sometimes. I did not want to get too fancy with the files for this. SFC3\'s .mp3 files and make them work with SFC3 (I don\'t), these sounds will work out well with SFC3 too. In all cases you should unpack all .wavs and put them into \'SFCSounds.zip\' file with setting \'No compression\' set (additionally if you have WinRAR, you can also set in \'Time\' tab to maintain archive\'s original time).
