A very nice ship thats worth a download :) - Mr. Greg -------------------------------------------- There's something to be said for the most downloaded ship (and one of the most downloaded anythings) on this site. You obviously can't obtain that status without having several key qualities. The obvious one is looks. It looks fantastic. Deemon's hard work pays off in a low-poly spectacular design that incorporates every major feature of the USS Prometheus, as seen in 'Message in A Bottle'. Due to its creation, it also doesn't cause slow-down when playing, making it a versatile fleet piece in the fleet. With its incessant speed, obliterating weaponry and strong defence, it brings the stock Federation up to 'Red Alert', whilst the enemy ships will likely be doing the same. Of course, that's not to say this isn't balanced, which it is. Whilst it comes at quite a resource cost (bar crew and officers) it maintains the need for a large amount of them, but controls the amount...slightly. That being said, leave the enemy to ponder and make a fleet of them (ie. 16) then, well, you're screwed, really. Whilst it might seem a bit bias to say that this is [i]the[/i] best ship on the site, it certainly is way high up there and with such grace as well. battleship. Designed to be one of the Anti-Borg ships (such other ships include the New Orleans and Cheyenne that fought in Wolf 359 and the later ships that proved to be more successful, including the Akira and Defiant) but wasn't ready in time for the Wolf 359 battle. Flagship of the fleet with its power alone (never mess with a ship that has torpedo tubes going into 2 digits and fires quantum torpedoes)...so it's apt that it is blessed with a great model in this game. Admiral's Sovereign is a real beauty. You don't need me to tell you that though, the screenshots below really do not do it justice. Low in poly (just above the stock Sovereign, in fact) its textures allow it to shine through (of which there are two sets, one shown below and a darker one for those who perhaps want the more militaristic feel to it). This isn't limited to the ship itself. The texture for the Corbomite Reflector has also been edited and is a lot more clear-cut and defined....and generally cooler. That pretty much sums up this mod; it's better. Just so much better. The only erk with it and I believe it to be a valid one, is that with its new weapons it can become slightly un-balanced (as in Borg killer un-balanced) but what's a Battleship without the ability to kick some ass? This is a [b]must-have[/b] for [b]anyone[/b] who plays this game.
Those of you that have been paying attention on the Forums will have seen this ship before, in the thread I created about poly reducing, and then re-releasing her. Everything should be in order with this one, at least, everything I've done. You will need to add it to the Tech Tree & AI Files etc if you expect it to work fully, though for what I've provided, it'll work fairly well with. Again, a ship that I may have in Zero Hour (along with the Achilles), though that is still undecided. I trust those of you that download and use this will get your enjoyment out of it. ;) - Ash

what we already have in Armada. Yes they're high poly and have big textures, but my gosh do they look like they're going to tear through some Cardassians! Whilst the download size might be daunting, it's explainable as you're not downloading 2 ships, but 5! You have the standard Galaxy class ala TNG alongside the phaser nacelle variant seen in DS9. The Nebula's get it better though as you have the Melbourne warp nacelle variant, the weapons pod of the Sutherland and the sensor pod of the Phoenix. I actually think the Nebula's look that bit better than the Galaxy's, but that's not to say the dreadnaughts don't look nice, because they really do. Balance is also not an issue. Whilst it might be taxing on the very weakest of PC's, these ships fit perfectly in to the stock game however the additions do lack wireframes, and Ai script, there are plenty available to already get a hold of. Also, stock weapons are still the same, along with every other statistic, special weapons have been distributed. Now, the Nebula's play less of an over-view special weapons ship and require more management. The Galaxy's are given the Engineering team special, whilst each of the Nebula's has the other 3 specials catered to their unique design. Add to that canon names for all the ships, you really do have a great mod. This is certainly recommendable. there hasn't been that much of a change of the preferred Armada Prometheus of choice. That however may now change. Bridge Commander can bless us with some truly innovative designs, it can also provide the chance for someone to do nice looking versions of craft that you may not be able to get away with in other games (such as an RTS game...called Armada) but what if you reduced its resource want and converted it to Armada? Would that not look awesomely awesome? Well...errr, make up your mind with the pics below! Whilst not odf'd to be as strong as Deemon's version (something of a battlecruiser) this cruiser fits into stock with being quite resource heavy, but packs an almighty punch with weapons the same as the stock Sovereign. Whilst that may not sound like much (remember, stock Galaxy is superior to the Sovereign) on a cruiser, this would make it among the most powerful, if those damn Sphere's didn't regenerate! Anyhow, this is a nice full pack, looks lovely and caters for all your Prometheus needs. Definitely a worthy download.

Part of the advanced modifications made by Admiral Janeway to Captain Janeway\'s vessel included the transphasic torpedo (already released on this site, and very nifty), but also hull armour for the Voyager. This hull armour made the difference when the Voyager cut its way through the Borg, costing Admiral Janeway her life, but thankfully not Captain Janeway nor the crew. Everyone made it home. Well, except for Neelix. He already was home. Anyway, dan1025 has gone to considerable lengths to give us MRJOHN\'s Armoured Intrepid model, originally released for Bridge Commander. There are two .SOD files available. One (which you could use for a hero-ship Voyager) stands around 4400 poly, while the other (useful for standard Intrepid class ships, with armour) about 2400. (This, of course, begs the question of why Starfleet wouldn\'t use armour on ALL Federation starships after Voyager\'s return.... which leads to awkward questions about Nemesis.... and the Enterprise-J.... and basically everything post-VOY. And nobody wants to go there yet. Not even Paramount.... though we desperately wish they would already!!!) This mod is fully and completely what we hope for here at A2Files. Along with the double-.SOD, there\'s high res textures, a full complement of .ODF files, build buttons and special weapon buttons, a wireframe and an Admiral\'s Log pic. All you need to do is install the mod, and then add the weapon to your Intrepid Class. The mod uses a fusion weapon so you can deploy and retract the armour at will. Note that the armour prevents you from having any shields. The .ODFs are balanced to make the armour fairly realistic, all things considered. (One would think, given this limitation, that the Borg would\'ve solved their Voyager problem by simply beaming a whole platoon of drones on board and having them assimilate everyone and everything on board. But never mind. Thinking too much again.) Anyway, this is a spectacular mod, worthy of your highest attentions, ESPECIALLY if you\'re a Voyager fan. Download this one now! :cool:

Quite possibly the most famous starship not named Enterprise, the Defiant was the star of the show throughout the Dominion War, and she'd be the weapon of choice for the majority of our fanbase here at A2Files. This is one model you're going to catch yourself starin' at, kids. I know I did. The model itself comes in at about a thousand poly, which might be a problem if you spam 'em in the stock game on a low-end machine. But the textures are incomparably clean and everything you'd want a legend to be. Unlike a few other Defiants I've seen, this one glows in all the proper places and --best of all-- it's coloured properly, too! This one is sure to become the new standard in Defiant-focused PotDs. You're not likely to find a more perfect balance between poly count and texture work anytime soon. The only downside is that you're still reliant on stock buildbuttons and wireframes, but the "tough little ship" is a pretty sure addition to any mod from Ghost's to Borg Incursion and back again. It's nothing you can't find everywhere else, including in stock, but that shouldn't keep you from trying. I have a strong suspicion that this model will become one of the most popular both in downloads and in future PotDs. It's certainly worthy of immediate download. Considerable credit to Aad Moerman for rendering a fan favourite in such exquisite detail. Download this one right now. - the Kid :cool:
breath-taking appearance in game as a result, the Century Class is probably one of maybe five ships I\'ve ever seen worthy of the name Enterprise. There is simply nothing better out there right now that so fully represents the proud heritage, and future potential, of the United Federation of Planets quite like this design. And k_merse\'s latest version does the design --and Starfleet-- just right. Get this one today. Even if you have the Century class already, get it again. :cool:
I\'m telling you to download this. This is a Galaxy class and the dominion war refit by Michael Kelly, and these are superb. It uses Deemons texures for a base, but Michael managed to make them better. Also the venture refit with the necelle phaser strips adds color to the mod pack. I don\'t think that they have any other Venture refits out, but that\'s something I\'ll have to check. The weapons in the ODF file for the venture class are not stock, so you may have to change that to your own configuration settings. I highly reccomend a download, and I even made my own Storm 3D screenshot of the venture.
glide in at the right moment, dispense a few bursts, then flee, not much was known about this destroyer-come-cruiser-come-whatever...doesn't stop it looking awesome though. Part of Starfleet's radical redesign of ships, the Norway really does flip up previous Starfleet design, whilst, somehow, maintaining the old designs. It's all there; the bridge, the separated nacelles etc. and that's what makes this mod great, the fact that it faithfully recreates that little seen ship that appears for under a minute. Complete with every file needed to get it working (interface and odf files etc.) this Norway holds up even now against newer models in its quality. Looking very "I'm here to get the job done" she fits in nicely just below the Akira, but somewhere around the Intrepid/Steamrunner level, so if you want to slot it in specifically into your Federation fleet, you have a bit of flexibility when it comes to the tech tree, although she is very much a first-shipyard ship. Another masterpiece by Deemon, this is an essential inclusion to any Federation fleet and, does so with one heck of a bang.
design has never before been seen for Armada II in the fullness of its designer's intent.... until now. This mod by k_merse just might be the finest ship I've seen in a very long time. As with his previous efforts on the Century class, no bit of detail overlooked, no effort underdone, no point of potential nitpicking left for comment. She's a jaw-dropper. I can't believe I didn't like this design when I first saw it. Now.... now it's done right. And best of all, it's a part of a mod that's of the kind we like to see here at A2Files: AMAZING. Download this ship right now. Even if you're not a Titan fan, you'll love this one. :cool:

a USS Voyager hero ship that's simply spectacular. The quality of this model is as good, if not better, than any Intrepid we've yet seen-- but best of all, FahreS has included the warp-capable model of this ship with a fusion script that allows Voyager's warp nacelles to realign themselves in keeping with the original Intrepid model's design. That's something we've never really seen done quite this well before. This mod comes complete with the fusion scripts, the admiral's log pic, the buildbutton and wireframe, and specialized photons and phasers as well. Note that you can't use this to replace your stock Intrepid-- all the build names are USS Voyager because of how the re-aligning of warp engines relies upon fusion scripts. Nothing to be done about that. In theory, you could also modify this ship to launch the Delta Flyer or shuttles, use tricobalt devices or re-create the entire trip home across the Delta Quadrant. Nice quality Borg textures make alternate endings a distinct possibility, of course. But this model of the Intrepid class leaves nothing to be desired. It's that good. And it leaves us wondering where FahreS will apply his considerable modelling talents next. (If I could put a request in, I'd love to see his take on the Excelsior.) Multi Vector Assault Mode integrated, tanked up with some impressive armour and a bite that will cripple a Negh'Var it's shows the meaner side of Starfleet. Thanks to DocaCola and the FO team, the release of the [url="http://armada2.filefront.com/news/Star_Trek_Armada_II_Patch_Project_125_released;36976"]Patch Project 1.2.5[/url]; MVAM and fighter deployment have been realized. This mod uses Deemon's Prometheus Class which is already available here, but obviously the fact you can separate the ship into 3 sub-vessels to pull the ears off of a few Romulans means it is a significant update on the original. them. Those nacelles on the previous version seemed to resemble a new designed set, more so than the nacelles you\'d expect to see on a refitted Excelsior (at least, in my opinion). Likewise, and with more changes, the textures have been edited also, this time, to include light maps (alpha channels), along with the phaser arrays on the saucer moved. Those before seemed a little cramped up, especially when compared to the Excelsior of TMP / TNG. Overall, to me, this is the better design of the two, and the changes do it Justice. However, there will be those who feel the other is the better ship, and with that, the file is still avaliable to download. This one would almost feature as an Editors Choice / Directors Cut or something. Both are good, regardless ;) - Ash

Anyhow, I'm sure most of you have already seen these before, but for those who haven't, they were prototype designs pumped out by Starfleet in an effort to produce 'Anti-Borg' ships. Of course, considering all ships were destroyed at Wolf 359, they all failed. The ships are all cruisers based off the larger Galaxy design. They play more of a supporting role in the fleet, so don't expect them to be punching any holes in battleships, or at least not by themselves. The Cheyenne you'll want to use as a reconnaissance vessel. Its speed allows it to dart in and out with the info. before it's reacted too, but its armament will achieve little in terms of offensive punch. The Springfield, having a bit more of a punch, can support a larger class while it engages. Again, this won't be doing any one-on-one, but, it has enough power to fight and then cheese it when the enemy re-enforcements come. The New Orleans, the only ship likely to survive in a one-on-one has a large torpedo load and is small, but can be ripped apart fairly easily. She's essentially an artillery ship, so you'll want her behind the bulk of your forces, but still in range of the enemy. No doubt, she's the strongest of the lot. Graphically, they all look very nice. We do have multiple versions of each on the site, so they provide a little bit more choice to which one you get. In-game, they'll do a straight replacement of the Akira, Intrepid and Steamrunner though when you have the hp's, there is of course nothing stopping you from changing the odf's to your heart's content. All in all, it's a nice and well done pack. While technically not adding anything new to the scene, you can't fault its quality.

belong to the community, but when you release a mod, you WANT your stuff to be compared favourably to theirs. It's a badge of honour for A2 modders to hear, "that model looks almost as good as Major Payne's" or "I'm used to seeing stuff this good out of Achilles" or "Man, those textures are Jetfreak-level quality." The reason for that last one used in conversation can be seen clearly, abundantly, in this mod. Jet's taken a MaP version of Hawkeye's model of the Sovereign class starship, and kitted out its texture with such detail as can scarcely be imagined. Jet's done Sovereign retextures before. This one is arguably the DEFINITIVE A2 model of the definitive Starfleet starship of the post-Nemesis era. And the textures are the difference maker. Jet has been tweaking and working on this one for a long time. He refers to it in the readme as his "final" version of the Sov, and it's easy to see why. At this level of pure win, it's hard to imagine outdoing oneself. There are no less than FOUR different versions available: a standard Sov, a War Sovereign, a hero model for Captain Picard, and an imperial USS Enterprise-E, among other little bonuses I won't describe here. Not only is this a truly fantastic piece of work, it plays very well, too. I took out a formation of twelve of them up against a Romulan adversary earlier today. They're graceful and lethal all at once. You simply MUST download this. :cool:
good, but the file size is a little big, and it's been done before, just maybe not in the same way.
incorporated design features from most, if not all, of its predecessors, notably the Excelsior and Constitution class designs. Yet she stood apart. If the Excelsior was intended at the time as a sort of early model Ford Mustang, and the Galaxy class as a high-end SUV, the Sovereign made herself the Ferrari on the lot. The ambitious design made itself great with its appearances in Insurrection and Nemesis (hopefully it was insured) as the Enterprise, but also in the game Bridge Commander as the USS Sovereign. Of course, we've seen them by the thousands in Armada, sometimes in lame "Sovvy rushes". But I'd be hard-pressed to remember a time, or a model, in A2 when the best starship that the Federation has to offer looked quite THIS nice. This model is Jetfreak's conversion of the well-known CG Sovereign from BC. It offers some nice features, notably a brighter hull, full speculars, and less poly than the P81 model of old. While some parts of it might rankle the true Sov worshipers among us (for example, I swear this model has headlights coming from just below the bridge), the fact is, it's the finest model of a truly fine starship that we've yet seen. It's days like this that I love being part of this community, 'cause it's SO good to see something this beautiful come to life. I highly recommend that you download this one right now, 'cause it looks spectacular. Jetfreak has shown us some truly fantastic work in the past, mostly via PotD submissions. I think I speak for all of us when I say to Jetfreak, "shine on, you crazy diamond". :cool:
experimental carrier ship, the Typhon (which was actually pretty small when compared to a Sovereign). Both needed each other and thus, many missions ensued with you in your ever-upgrading Valkyrie jumping from task to task like it was any ordinary day; from fighting the Romulans and aiding the Klingons, to fighting two thought-to-be-extinct races, an armada of Borg ships and because it has to, a renegade Starfleet captain (of the USS Sentinel, Sovereign class). Today, we get what made that game great. And no, that isn\'t fighters with quantum torpedoes (oh, that was fun). What is in here though is the Typhon class, with enough hull to punch through the enemy lines and enough shielding to deploy into Launch Mode and let the Valkyries loose (i.e. building them). The system is pretty intuitive, as you simply build the costly Typhon and as soon as it leaves the dock, you can change from Fortress Mode (with inaccurate pulse phasers, to relate to how in Invasion turrets were manned, not automated) to the Launch Mode where you can build three types of Valkyrie that play out slightly different. Not too much, but it is certainly discernable. The Typhon it self doesn\'t pack a punch, so simply pumping these out is not going to achieve anything note-worthy. Deploy with the Valkyries though and you have something of a powerful, albeit poor defense, attack force in the manageable Valkyrie fighters. Whilst it\'s a shame that the other variations of Valkyrie were included (there were 3 types) along with any of the multiplayer fighters and enemy craft from the campaign, what is present is nicely executed and gets the feeling across of gritty warfare. Textures fit the bill, along with the models and they\'re all complete with build buttons and wireframes, which certainly look the part. To really get the use out of this though, you really need to \'micro-manage\' your forces. You can\'t just build Valkyrie and expect them to do lots of damage. They will, but if you simply order them, they\'ll lose a lot of attack power as your forces get diminished and slowly, you\'ll find a drain on your resources becoming significant. Attack, control then retreat to the safety of your deployed Fortress Typhon. All in all though, very good fun. It\'s a charming little package, definitely.
said in the last one, I really like the look of this ship, especialy the necells. It just looks really unique yet it works really well. This file comes in an installer so its easy to use for those with a clean A2 install, but those with modded versions of A2 might want to read the install instructions file that come inside the zip.
countless PotDs and Screenshots over the past year. This Excelsior is originially done by [b]Capatin Fingers[/b] but was retextured by K7A for DoW. The ship is excellent and doesn\'t disappoint. The ship plays well in game and looks very good even in stock Armada 2 so in any modified game it should fit in well. On the downside, and I\'d hate to be negative but there is no wireframe, admirals log bitmap, buildbutons or assimilation textures but I guess the modder has restricted those features to his mod and doesn\'t want to release them separately, I hope ;). every sense because just look at the thing! Does that not look frikkin' cool or what?! What amazes me is how Aad managed to balance this so seamlessly. It's got a lot of fire-power, a large amount of health and yet you're going to be waiting a bit for it to work and be spending a lot on it getting going, but, I would just have it to brag about saying I've built one. Com'on! That looks cool! Anyhow, content in here, as expected from Aad has this be a full-piece mod. Custom weapons (not textures) included, along with wire-frame, build-button and admiral's pic and of course the ship odf. This fits right-in at the end of the Federation tech-tree and will become a useful ship to counter the other races pure might (to which in the stock game, the Federation are sorely lacking). Think of this as a heavier alternative to the Sovereign; you won't want an entire fleet made of them because of time constraints, but you will have at least 2 or 3. All-in-all, a very good download for just 4.5mb. In fact, I'm almost inclined to say this has a Klingon-amount of weapons, which, in my case, I won't argue with. Very good take on an 'old' design. Definitely download worthy.

are not included in this update since the low res ones are smaller and that there's not that much noticable diffrence between the two while in game. Details for obtaining high res textures can be found within the install directions. I also greatly apologize for any inconvenience or frustrations this brought. The Prometheus class is one of the most well known ships from Star Trek, mainly from a new take on Starship Seperation; the Multi Vector Assault Mode. Dispite it's fame, this ship is a rather elusive one in Armada II, especially with MVAM support. While there is a version of the Prommie originally created by Deemon/Gonwee, time had not faired well with it. So here I present a new Prometheus class model with MVAM support, as well as several diffrent textures to choose from. I admit that while I tried to get it as close to the cannon design, it's not perfect. But it is of good quallity, and it brings a bit of Diversity for the class.

The textures are flawless along with a seemless model that contains the battering "Assault Phaser" along with your traditional All Good Things Federation cloaking device. Re-placed hit points and additional nacelle phaser arrays plus visible bridge addons, this truly is THE Galaxy X to get... so what are you waiting for?

by the Zero Hour team (the readme for this set indicates they\'re ALSO formerly of ZH lineage), and while the saucers aren\'t quite as rounded, the ships themselves are every bit as nice. This also includes Milkshape files, admiral\'s log pics, wireframes, build buttons, and pretty standard .ODF files. Nothing flashy here, really. But also nothing that really sets them apart from the aforementioned ZH set. It\'s strange to see two sets of these ships within six months of each other when we\'re just screaming for new content here. I mean, we always need new models for both those with high-end anti-aliasing juggernaut computers as well as barely-running-stock low-end computers. I just really hope that people start turning in new ships (even kitbashes) soon. It\'s all we can hope for, really. :cool:

Jetfreak released a second ship re-texture pack that included P81's Galaxy. The model was undoubtedly incredible, but it had one little nitpick of a texture bug on a nacelle pylon. Several months ago, the Starbase 34 Compliation Mod debuted on Armada II Filefront. Two of the hero ships were the USS Galaxy and the USS Venture. The Galaxy herself used a model that did not have the little texture bug, and the model mesh itself was a bit more detailed. The Venture model was a slightly modified version of the Galaxy's model, with phaser banks on the nacelles. Thanks to generous help from various members at MSFC, I now present the second release of my Galaxy-Class pack. I've taken a leaf out of Jetfreak's book in terms of organization of content and installation instructions. The model is over 10,000 poly-- for a small-scale fast-attack vessel, that's murder for some computers. Although if your computer can handle that many, she's a thing of beauty. You might want to consider making this the "hero ship" equivalent and using the lesser-poly models of the Courageous available as the standard build-and-kill model in your game. Either way, everything is included --the buildbuttons, wireframes and so forth-- so if you can get a single model which has more poly than most stock races do in their entire set of ships and stations combined.... it's definitely worth it. :cool:

This is the Luna Class Exploration Vessel - What many may know as the USS Titan (Rikers Ship). Though there have been many sceptics about the class of the Titan, there have also been many designs. I'm sure many people know of infamous Dreadnought-sized Titan Class - It has been incorporated into various MOD's here on A2Files, personally, I had the Titan down as an Akira Class, however we were all wrong. This design (though not 100% accurate) is what the now named Luna Class is. - This is an official design, and recognised by Paramount. The only problem with this model is (yes, you've already read it) the 9000+ polly count. - It still amazes me how people submit stuff like this knowing that they won’t be able to get the full enjoyment out of it, but still. If anyone feels like having a crack to polly reduce this, then feel free. Additionally, if someone does think to do that, may I advise an attempt with Major Payne’s Premonition model before hand - could save you a lot of work. - SSA
its own as a concept until the Galaxy class was seen in action during "Encounter at Farpoint". The Galaxy EVO mod was one of those developments that came out of the events of "Generations" and the debut of the Prometheus class design. Suddenly people realized that having the civilian-filled saucer section limping away at impulse probably wasn't going to guarantee anyone's survival. And LC Amaral designed the Galaxy EVO in order to have warp in both sections of the ship, making the whole concept a little more easy to live with. Dan1025 has done a remarkably good job with the original Bridge Commander model, porting it and reducing the poly count significantly while not taking anything away from the overall design. However, this mod requires the FleetOps patch version 1.2.5, which means that if you have any intentions of using this straight into stock, you'll have to figure out a few work-arounds. Moreover, despite the Titan class' eventual change in design to a ship more reminiscent of the Akira class than the Galaxy class (and its re-naming as the Luna class), this ship is referred to as the Titan class in the .ODF files. Simple enough to switch, if you care one way or another. Everything you could want --a full set of build and weapons buttons, textures with and without registry, wireframes and admirals' log pics-- it's all here. Dan1025 has shown the importance of paying attention to the little details with this mod. The final product demonstrates that sort of quality through and through. Although I'm not a fan of the design, I do appreciate the work that went into this mod, and hopefully, a download will mean that you will, too. :cool:
While it is still possible to build multiple stardrive sections, this at least limits it by the number of crew you have. A nice alternative to Gonwee\'s.

the Federation a real kick with one of these in the fleet; think of it as a more agile and slightly toned down Sovereign and that's basically what this is. History aside, I've got to say that personally the Ronin is a great looking ship that doesn't go against the Federation philosophy whilst still having weapons. With that in mind that, I can confidently say that Aad has faithfully re-created the ship for spangley A2 use. And a use from it thou shall recieveth. You get the choice of two pretty well balanced ships to put in; the powerful explorer type vessel (stronger than the stock Sovereign and Galaxy) or the more powerful battleship version, which boasts a couple of extra weapons. Either way, you're looking at something that is pretty powerful and not to be underestimated. Balance is as expected with Aad, as is the quality of model and textures which from the screenshots is pretty easy to see as being high quality. As expected again, the mod package is complete, with build buttons and Borg textures to mention just some of the stuff looked for in a single file. There isn't really much else to say about this one. Generally very high quality, will fit snuggly in in-game, both as a powerhouse and a looker and will certainly quench any thirst you had of needing a new ship to defend the Federation.

Even though she\'s a bright design and a loved ship, we only have had two versions of it on the site (Deemon\'s and P81\'s)...until now! Think of this as the mid-way version. It\'s generally better quality than Deemon\'s but not as high as P81\'s. Its poly count is in between the two. It can run on mid-range PC\'s, but it\'s more than just \'the middle\'. Do we like it though? Well, I think the model is great and so to are the textures, but I can\'t help but think that there\'s just that \'something\' off with them. They\'re off a high standard, especially for a conversion, but something doesn\'t sit well with me about them. This doesn\'t mean to say though that I don\'t like it, as I do, definitely. However, when does my opinion out-do all of yours? I\'m sure many people will love this and they\'ll say to me \"how can this NOT be your favourite?\" but, to each their own. Included are low and high resolution textures allowing you to pick for your computer accordingly and necessary files to run it. Other than the model and textures, an odf is included to account for all hard-point changes, but it\'s the same Intrepid, stats wise, that you\'ve been using since the game came out. A recommended download and worthy replacement (and new option) for the bright Intrepid class. Definitely worthy.

Technically not a Federation starship, but rather an elaborate ruse perpetrated by the alien named Arturis, the Dauntless design apparently so impressed Starfleet that they rushed a non-slipstreaming version into immediate production. Whether or not you believe the story, you won't believe the quality of this mesh. Dan poly-reduced this one considerably, but it still sits at well over 4000 poly. That's less than half of the original mesh, and it makes this little ship look fantastic. As always, the included details --build button, wireframe, Admirals Log pic, even new torpedoes based on stock-- are exemplary. You won't be disappointed with this one. Download it today. :cool:

Peregrine class fighters. To that point, fighter combat in Trek was conjectural, but sources all over the Trek community figured that the Federation would eventually have to work its way up to carriers of some kind. It made sense-- naval combat here on Earth went from ships ramming and boarding each other, to ships gunning for each other, to ships shelling each other, to ships launching smaller craft to drop bombs and torpedoes and things against each other. Why not the same thing in Starfleet? The Peregrine fighter design you see here is a wonderful example of that design. With its twin-boom tail and distinctive diamond shape, the Peregrine is reminiscent of WWII-era fighters like the P-38 Lighting and P-61 Black Widow. This mod by Dan1025 (one of many this week from that incredible modder) includes everything you need to add the Peregrine to your game, right down to the weapons and wireframe, the buildbutton and the Borg textures. (Actually, the Borg version looks particularly menacing, although why or how the Collective would assimilate a simple fighter when they could grab a whole carrier is a good question.) Definitely worthy of a download. :cool:

get stuff from modders who don't frequently submit stuff and come out with absolute wonders. Needless to say from that, this is definitely the latter. Contained within are no less then 6 completely new (and one revised) non-canon ships...they all look great. Ranging from your fighters and shuttles to your large test-bed's and heavy cruisers, this pack almost looks as if it's segments within Starfleet. By this, I refer to the insignia's and designs, almost as if they belong to a group (think of Red Squadron and Valiant). Whilst this immediately caught my eye, I realised that it does make a lot of sense. Don't think that these craft are the pleasantries of the Galaxy and Excelsior, these are the Defiant's and Sovereign's of Starfleet and once again, they look great. Obviously it'd take a long time to individually review 8 ships, but there are general things that definitely should be pointed out. From what I've noticed, they do seem to be relatively balanced with stock. To the degree that the shuttle would get destroyed by a Bird of Prey in no time, whilst the largest craft would handle wtih severeal BoP's at once. Content is all there too. Build button's and wireframes for every craft and admirals pic's (very actiony, you'll see what I mean when you download this, which you will) which is a nice feature and displayed, the poly counts are not very high whatsoever, as in they stick well within stock counts. What does this mean? Well it means that you could, if you wanted to, build hundreds of fighters and shuttles with no loss of quality of gaming, likewise if you wanted fleets of the big cruisers, that'd be no problem. No stone has been left unturned. In fact the only thing I've noticed wrong with this pack is the fact that there isn't a lovely shipyard to go with these, which I think would be utterly appropriate. To focus on a few of the ships, my personal favourites are the Metropolitan class, labelled as something of a stepping stone before the Ambassador whilst looking very cool and maintaining the fact of being before the better Ambassador class, the Starchaser class is big and bulky and still looks utterly awesome, whilst the Stormrider, the nifty fighter, looks to fit the bill well. Heck, they all look good, no faults with any. This pack also contains instructions as to how to create small variants (eg. carriers) and some new textures for weapons. This is an absolutely brilliant pack and without a doubt worthy of your download. Excellent work on this one.

as many of you will already know, this is the "MVAM" Intrepid. I've never myself been able to work out why all these moving parts (the Intrepid nacelles, the Bird of Prey wings) etc are thought of as MVAM, but still. This is a darn good idea, though the ship poly count lets it down (as it is quite high) so for a hero ship. The only other problem I can think of, would be having this in fleets (for those with powerful PC's). Loads of ships, and having to get them all to change may get annoying. - SSA
in my textures, as it was hard to make out where the torpedolaunchers were placed. In her normal mode, the ship has 4 tt, all in the gamma section. In assault mode, the alpha unit activates 2 forward tubes, the same as on the beta unit. All 3 sections in assault mode have now 8 tubes. KNOWN ISSUE There could be a problem when using the seperation weapon. The game might chrash. I hope somebody can find what is wrong. the Sabre is a bare-bones design meant to simply get in the way, to my mind the Steamrunner has a sort of cavalry-unit fast-attack feel to it. Why they made THIS ship the artillery bucket for the stock Feds is beyond me. But this model by K7A for the upcoming Dogs of War mod (\'upcoming\' as it\'s been for some time now) looks truly spectacular. Now maybe everyone else will see what I see in the Steamrunner: grace, speed and power. Either that or you\'ll use it to replace your stock artillery bucket and that\'ll be the end of that. - the Kid :cool:
- The \"catamaran\" holders that connect the aft and saucer hulls along with the nacelle pylons and the aft platform module are the same as the Akira. The nacelles themselves are a cool oval shape and the saucer is a nicely designed hull design. I like the way the saucer is divided into little sections, reminds me of the Antithesis Fleet, as it gives it the impression of heavy armour. The saucer also has the Sovereign\'s escape pods (the small gold hexagons on the hull). The one nitpick I have is the textures. I think they are good but I think a darker hull would suit the vessel better, a hull colour-scheme similar to the canon Sabre or canon Steamrunner Classes or even just some hi-res textures. This mod contains two variations of this vessel, the Forerunner and a replacement for the Akira. If you intend to keep the Akira that you already have ingame then just add the Forerunner Class, if you wish to replace the Akira with this vessel then add the files in the \"fbattle2\" folder. been hard to please these two sections of the community..... but today Aad Moerman gives us his latest design, the Nimrod, which promises to have something for both. Combining no less than a full quartet of Sovereign nacelles into a modified Akira frame intended to hold 'em, and with a little story to explain the situation, the Nimrod class looks and plays with the combination of beauty and power that one expects of any good Starfleet vessel. She's a proper lioness in that she's got teeth as well, including new weapons .ODFs based on stock and included by Aad Moerman for your modding enjoyment. There's also a full set of in-game details to suit. The Nimrod class gives a new meaning to the term "best of both worlds" and commends itself to be downloaded, by you, as soon as possible. :cool:

Dan1025 gives us a really gorgeous version of the Apollo class, by way of Zero Hour. This one comes complete with all the necessaries-- a wireframe, a buildbutton, an admiral's log pic and really nice Borg textures. This one's worth a download simply because of the pedigree-- between Ash and Dan, I don't know who's the better modder, I just know they're both among the best we've ever had in this community. scaling is right where it should be, and the design itself doesn't look quite so awkward. Also, there's no longer an issue with this ship replacing others, which is nice. Worth a look for the ENT fans who want a little more power from their nacelles. :cool:

Similar versions of this ship appeared prominently in the latter stages of DS9 and while it actually appeared in "Message in a Bottle" [*] [b]Phoenix[/b]: in this pack as [i]fnebulasr[/i] this appeared in TNG: The Wounded. It's main features are the rounded AWACs Pod. [*] [b]Melbourne[/b]: This is the famous Wolf 359 Nebula Class, it has two smaller nacelles mounted aft above the saucer. [*] [b]Prototype II[/b]: The "original" Melbourne Class, this has the two minor nacelles protracted away from the main hull at aft while it's main nacelles are connected to a nacelle-holder that is basically the Galaxy nacelle-holder upside down. [*] [b]Prototype III[/b]: This is a variation on the Prototype I (which is not here in this pack) but has elements of the original Nebula and Bonchune variants, basically the same AWACs Pod. As Shadow stated it appears in Sisko's office but was built as a predecessor to the Melbourne model for BoBW [/list] This mod really is the essential Nebula pack for Armada 2, granted it's missing the Nebula Prototype I and the DS9 model which took part in the Battle to retake Chin'toka (Changing face of Evil). The quality is really good, almost perfect. Standing between 2280-2840 polys the models with their excellent but higher Res (512 x 512)textures might be too much for some but if you have a good PC then these are a definite download. SPECTACULAR. The enhanced details and fine little improvements may only be detectable to the eyes of Dawnstar fans (like me), but they make all the difference and they're well worth a download. he ISN'T happy with, it kind of makes you wonder what'd happen if he was on his game and put together a Constellation class starship..... like, how could it be better? Nice lightmaps, detailed build button and wireframe, and best of all, a canon Federation starship that looks better than ever. One of the unfortunate oversights in this mod was a question of reference to the unofficial 1.2.5 patch available for download and whether or not it's required in order to use this mod. Given that there's a reference to "a total of 12 fighters", it might seem confusing. However, the carrier builds the fighters, and it's suggested that you only build twelve of them maximum. Using the honour system never really works in a war but in this case, you'll just have to make an exception. But the good news is that you do NOT require anything but stock A2 in order to use this ship and its fighters. The new version of the Venture scout is particularly well-done, upgraded to a crew of nine and more in keeping with the scouts of other races in stock. And the fighter looks pretty awesome, too. It looks like a baby Defiant, just waiting to grow up and kick some serious butt. Note that this model includes absolutely everything you need to work-- build buttons, wireframes, admirals' log pics, and nice textures-- for all three of the ships included. This looks like the kind of mod we've all been looking forward to: a true carrier available without relying on the 1.2.5 content. Definitely download worthy. :cool:

Of course it needs some time to reload, but it helped some fleets of battleship to stay alive. Because everyone felt very enthusiastic when they talked about that beam, they decided to call it Thor\'s Hammer. The File The file features with the Monygham: 1. New Specialweapon with button 2. Lightmaps 3. Rotated HardPoints 4. Wireframe, Build Button, Admirals Pic 5. New Weapons: Photon Torpedo 6. 3D-Borg-Textures 7. 2D-Borg-Textures And at least thanks to Alien and Nostromo.
rollbar has been replaced by one that is more elegant and so have so pylons that connect the nacelles to the rest of the ship. The torpedo launchers were scaled down, because I found them to be out of proportion. The textures of the back part have been changed to be more crisp and clear and the shuttle bay in the back is now clearly visible. The greatest change was removing the engineering section. I think this makes the ship more look like its precedessor, the Miranda Class. I decided to put the deflecor dish into the pod on the rollbar, first because I didn't want to get rid of it, second because I had scaled down the torpedo launchers and the pod looked too small, and third because I saw other ships of similar designs. I also added three more strobelights.The wireframe now has a transparent background. There are lightmaps and the borg textures have also been improved. there's an equal need for a "workhorse" design, beyond the tried-and-true Miranda class and the more advanced "mustang" ships such as the Akira class. In other words, the New Orleans class fills a gap that, for some reason, the DS9 producers preferred to give to the Miranda class. (Which actually makes sense if you think about it-- concentrated wings of exclusively New Orleans class ships would probably have made these 'tough little ships' prime targets for the Dominion.) At any rate, our very own Cyberash has put together a very well done model of the New Orleans class starship for your use in Armada II. While some details (such as the forward-facing-only torpedo launchers) aren't echoed in other models, others (like the lighting, especially on the lower saucer-- some fine work there) actually give this class a more stately bearing and a finer appearance than one might think it worth. However, if you want the "continuing mission", the price is eternal vigilance. And Ash's New Orleans class model looks more than capable in that regard. The only disappointment to be had here is that the .ODF and .SOD files, along with the textures, are all that's included. It's unfortunate that, in a ship with so many of the fine details included, the mod doesn't follow suit. You'll need to find your own build button, wireframe and admiral's log pic for this one, unfortunately. Of course, the other side of it is that you've probably already got this ship in your game (I know I do-- lots of fun to use in attack walls), but if you don't, you have some digging into other mods to do in order to find those important components. Love this class or hate it..... but download this model of it and enjoy. :cool:
It seems like they needed to include some new and nifty design just to appeal to the fans who weren't going to buy the game anyway-- a new Federation starship!? GOTTA HAVE THIS GAME! Yeah, well, seven years on, the Aegian has aged terribly in stock, and even attempts at retexturing have only reinforced the silliness of this design. Dan1025 gives us what's probably the best Aegian attempt we've seen to date --and as usual, it's sophisticated in how it improves the original while including everything you could possibly want. While the design hasn't improved any, that's hardly Dan's fault. This takes making the best of a bad situation to a new level of quality. Download this one today. :cool:

making the existing shape work. Aad has modified and enlarged the saucer section, changed the look of the vessel, and just generally done the best that can be done with the sad little design. Perhaps best of all, the crew complement has increased to 200, since as Aad points out, there's no reason a frigate has a crew complement on par with a destroyer. It's gotta have more crew or it doesn't make sense. This is a nice alternative design for the Aegian class, and hopefully you'll like it WAAAY better than the original. Download it today! :cool:
Starfinder class. The nacelle configuration is different, yes, but not really significantly. It even has similar weaponry. However, it's not my place to detract from a fine looking ship. If anything, this version is closer to the "Pathfiner" design seen on USSMiranda than the Starfinder (if that was the intention) and I think she generally looks a little better than the Starfinder. She sports mesh and textures from SSA's recent Akira mesh upload, which gives it a real kick and is nice to see they're being made use of. In addition, she comes with the new "Quantum Chain Reaction Pulsar", though unfortunately, this comes without a button. All in all, she's a decent download, but perhaps next time, it would be nice to see a slightly different design with seemingly more than just a nacelle change.

The sheer amount of pics sent to us really emphasise the beauty of the ship and achieved in a seemingly low poly count, it is bordering on the fantastically excellent side of ship making. As an F.Y.I, this ship, as you may be able to tell, is a sort of "future" envision of the ever dependable Miranda class, a popular design among many as I'm aware. The high's? Well, it uses P81's Sovereign (included in this pack as poly reduced, just to add) to full extent and pulls off a beautifully done design. Whilst I struggle to see the "slightly flawed wireframe", everything is there including concise installation instructions and an admiral's log picture. The low's? You've got to download it before you get it! So, what are you waiting for....get it!!

not borne out by the registry, about which the author unfortunately claims to "have absolutely no flapping idea who made it". Looks like Deemon's to me. And the mod itself doesn't include MVAM capabilities. It appears to be a straight-up .ODF modification, with a new .SOD to match. The actual speculation surrounding which ship would become the Enterprise-F after the decommissioning / destruction of Enterprise-E has been one of my pet peeves in the Trek modding universe. After all, nobody asked after Enterprise-B and its class until the advent of The Next Generation. It seems kind of presumptuous to assume that a certain class of starship recommends itself as the Enterprise. The speculators' best guesses seem to indicate that Enterprise-A's decommissioning led directly to the construction of Enterprise-B, which had a lengthy, if comparatively undistinguished, career before Enterprise-C was launched, then destroyed at Narendra III some time into its first mission. Enterprise-D was purpose-built from the keel up as an Enterprise, as it appears the Enterprise-C was so intended. And Enterprise-E was probably renamed after Enterprise-D's unfortunate loss at the hands of the Duras sisters. Each Enterprise has represented a major leap in the available technology aboard, more powerful than its predecessor. The unfortunate choice in the series Star Trek: Enterprise, to both tack on a predecessor (NX-01) and an eventual descendant (1701-J) bearing the name Enterprise, simply bears out that tendency. But that, so far as we know, is where the tendency comes to an end. Unless Picard's good ship is lost imminently after Nemesis, it seems unlikely that the Prometheus class starship would ever carry a ship named Enterprise. What's more, traditionally Starfleet has honoured the "typical" setup-- two nacelles, an underslung stardrive and a connected saucer. Despite the undisputed improvements in tactical and power systems, the Prometheus remains an unlikely choice for 1701-F even if the Enterprise-E were destroyed the day after the events of Nemesis. Community tradition holds either the Century or the Soulwolf designs to be the likely bearers of the name into the next "next generation". This particular mod gives the Prometheus better phasers, a cloaking device, and three plasma weapons. And the shields absorb all the damage the vessel takes. Seems like overkill on an already powerful vessel, but since this is the Enterprise-F, or supposed to be, that seems to justify it. As a first mod, it seems to be pretty well done. As an Enterprise, though? Your mileage may vary. Worth a look. :cool:

Because this one needs a lot of work just to get it functional. Most obvious of the errors (which haven\'t yet corrected in the .zip but which I or one of the other mods here might correct for HMS_Frontier to save a second \"corrected\" upload) is the multiple spellings of \"millennium\" in the various files. Also needing attention ---less as an error and more of a \"wtf?\" moment--- are the textures. I\'m not positive that these textures are entirely fitting to this vessel. You\'re going to want to use the \"noregistry\" textures included-- the ship\'s ventral registry is some other ship\'s, reversed, while the dorsal registry looks like it\'s done in block letters rather than standard Starfleet-style scripting. This isn\'t HMS_Frontier\'s first mod, and his progress, and his potential, as a modder is certainly evident. Like many of his other projects, it looks like it\'ll need a couple rounds of beta-testing (something that should\'ve been done with the MOD prior to its being sent to A2Files anyway) in order to fully flesh out everything that could go wrong. The workmanship put into this mod is good, but not quite worthy of being called \"great\". Even the smallest detail out of place with Armada II --as we\'ve all learned the hard way from time to time-- means the difference between an awesome Star Trek gaming experience and a frustrating evening of black-screen-of-death error hunting. (And I\'m not saying this to be cruel to you, HMS_Frontier. You\'re trying-- that counts for one hell of a lot with me. Don\'t stop modding on my account or anyone else\'s. She could be one truly awesome ship. I want to see it happen as much as you do. And I hope you can make it so.) in my opinion. It\'s majestic design yet brutal yield make\'s it a prominent destroyer, easily capable of destroying bigger ships, providing they work in a similar style to the Galor \"wolf-packs\" of three ships. Of course, this power does not make it a God ship for it has many draw-backs: it\'s built out of the first shipyard (providing you don\'t edit it) as part of some late research, it has a weak hull and moderate shielding. But as mentioned above, it\'s yield of four photon torpedoes and a cruiser phaser array, coupled with the swooping movements of it\'s fast speed\'s and cloaking device will make it a force to be reckoned-with. As mentioned in the readme, the Jagged-Edge class ship was born from the success of the Defiant project, which we all know worked to a great success. In fact, my only gripe with this ship is that it need\'s it\'s Crimson Fleet sisters to make it whole, otherwise it stands out, but let your enemy worry about that as they will have to contend with it, not you! Finally, as a ship to add to your masses of Federation shipyards, I say so. It has somthing that unfortuenately, quite a few designs (including canon ones) lack, and that is originality. However, one must get formal. These changes were made to the file after I recieved it from Capt_Syf: -After being instructed to test it by Syf and not finding the problem, Kel took it and had a look, giving back to me the mod in folders, so you can now extract-and-play with little hassle. This means the gui_global entry in the readme is incorrect, but I shall leave this as it is as the gui_global with the entries is already in there, along with the fyard and some tech tree files. -I added an Admiral\'s Pic while testing it myself, so that has also been included for your use. -Please note, the material\'s included are otherwise all Syf\'s, so please take this into account. If you want to gain permission for this, go to him, this work was done as extra.
seems more like an Excelsior III. This ship (the Excelsior II) is just what I'd expect to see from Starfleet, should they ever decide to work on the Excelsior Class oncemore. I'll admit, the model and textures alike could do with some work, but the idea is certiantly there, and I can only hope for an updated release of this. With a few changes here and there, I'd even go as far as to say I'd use it over my other two Excelsiors' in Zero Hour :p But yeah, this is a wonderful design, makes good use of herself, and is resonable on the poly count. You can see the standard Excelsior design in her, along with a 24th century feel. ;) - Ash
a repair ship\'s survivability, tactical usefulness and overall importance when launching Fleet Movements against enemy positions. This variant is armed with a Type X Phaser (from the Sovereign) and is retrofitted with the Aegian Fleet Defence weapon, the Shield Emitter which aids in the replenishment of shields quicker. Looks like you won\'t have to build the Aegian Class Defence Frigate anymore if you have some of these little miracle workers buzzing around in your fleet. Nice work :) [b] - IKS[/b]
look like the perfect strike cruiser but that one is up to you to decide. No mesh changes over the other Monarch subtypes but as the name suggests, it\'s the refit and the third in the line of the ships (note that, the J version is the standard Monarch class with some upgrades). Just be forewarned, this has a large build time. Part of the Monarch set, the \"Monarch Class\", \"Enterprise J\" and \"Monarch Refit\", all three ships can be in your game at the same time (though you might want to change the odf for the J to include the line about it being a hero, so it stands out a little more) which I think allows for more versatile gameplay. In terms of the performance of the three craft though, all are very powerful and this would, on a pinch, be the most powerful. It can easily defeat the standard Monarch with it\'s extra torpedo and increased hit points but would find a match in the J. That fight I strongly believe would go down to the \"first hit rule\", meaning that whoever gets the first shot will win, but not but just. The disadvantage this has over the J is the lower hit points for systems, which I can see as being the only way this would lose to the sister version. Up to you though, I suggest all three to be in your game.

Part of the Monarch set, the "Monarch Class", "Enterprise J" and "Monarch Refit", all three ships can be in your game at the same time (though you might want to change the odf for the J to include the line about it being a hero, so it stands out a little more) which I think allows for more versatile gameplay. In terms of the performance of the three craft though, all are very powerful but this is the least powerful of the lot. For note, she has two stock Sovereign phasers and her quantum torpedo. She also has a strong hull, lots of crew but makes up for this in the balance department with its build time and resources required.

are 3 fighters flying in unison. Well, that\'s because this mod as the Sparrow Class\' fighting as a squad. Pretty cool, huh? Whilst obviously one gets picked off rather easily, the three of them together can put in a little bit more of a punch before being toasted, which, they will. There\'s also a good bit of balance here as well. If you take a look at the ship odf then you\'ll see you could build an unlimited amount of them, due to the non-existent officer count. Don\'t fear though. They\'re relatively expensive for what they\'re worth and truly will only be powerful against ships, especially in swarms. With a damage base of 2 (in scale, a Sovereign stock has roughly 90) you\'re only going to be doing damage in a group, whilst being picked off by larger capital\'s. It\'s a nice set too. All content is there and looking clean and refined whilst the textures make the very low poly ships look pretty nice. Don\'t expect them to look fantastic at zoomed-in angle\'s, but they get the job done and do that well. All in all, a pretty nifty little set. My only irk is that a Sparrow Class wasn\'t available to use separately, meaning you have to use the combined 3, but it\'s hardly a big problem. At least this way, you won\'t lose your small fighters in a pitched battle. I\'d say these were best used early on when ships are weak and later on as cannon fodder against defended installations, allowing you to take out defences providing a much easier (and safer) job for your capital\'s to sort out.

like. Usually it's because the model is poorly done, but in this case, I can't fault that. It's a very well done model of a very poorly considered design. This three-nacelled Excelsior variant is another one of those speculative designs. It is sometimes listed as Trident class and sometimes as Medusa class. It was at first unclear what was the top and what was the bottom of the ship. Pizza the Hutt used Ex Astris Scientia as a reference for this model. Needless to say, the accuracy speaks for itself. But so does the overall appearance of this ship. "Medusa" indeed. Where exactly they put the warp core is open to interpretation, to say the least. That's implying, of course, that thought went into the design. More than likely it was a case of "hang some warp nacelles on it and throw it on screen" kitbashing. Download this one if you can bear the sight of it. Pizza the Hutt made a really pretty model of a really silly vessel. Can't fault him for doing his bit as a modder, to give us all those canon Starfleet vessels. :cool:
Well, you can have it in Armada II as a replacement to your freighter. I highly reccomend a download. It\'s much better than stock and can fit well in an alomst stock and a highly modified game. However, it also looks less like the Sovereign class USS Enterprise as a result than the lighter version, which may be the intended effect. Both models are equally based upon the P81 Sov model which is a well known model, but Ash has poly-reduced her by about a thousand poly. Please be advised that there are instructions in the readme about the method of installation used. Each of these ships are intended to be installed as the 'fbattle' replacement; there are no buildbuttons or wireframes as a result. Also, if you try to install one, it will override the other, as they will need a little modding finesse in order to appear together as they do in the screenshots. A very nice contribution to your A2 build. :cool:

cost of the ship is very low it would appear that this ship class is designed for suicide attacks on larger ships and stations. Given the power of the self destruct versus how many of these you can build for the cost of a single destroyer I would imagine that this could be quite painful to anybody on the receiving end of a suicide charge. I am not quite sure if this really suits the federation though, this seems more like a Klingon weapon (and even then I would have expected SOME weapons onboard apart from a bit bomb)

to the Akula, named Akula refit in honour of the Akula we all knew and loved in the SFC series and KA. Hope everyone enjoys! I also included a new Freedom class odf, there were no bugs in the previous one but I did make a mistake. I had the shield target hardpoints under the hull target hardpoints! It's not a big deal but I suppose if I made specific HP's for shields, might as well use them for shields! Not really optional or required, but if you have the Freedom already, you might aswell enjoy this!
wonders. So, as to why there is a sod of a Federation colony ship without it's team colour part is beyond me, but hey, there you go! This very nicely done upgrade changes an un-used Federation colony ship (same mesh) bar the team colour and utilises some nicely done upgraded textures that really highlight a good few details. Not only this, but upgrades were additionally done to the Borg set as well. Everything else about the Federation colony ship remains the same mind you. Though, the class name makes sense. As accurately pointed out by the developer, Raven sounds more combat-ship then colony. Overall,it's a decent download. Do note, this modification will most likely interfere with online play. So if you still have the stock model and play on-line, this probably won't be for you. Never mind if you don't, because this genuinely is a good addition.
Starfleet's newest designs. What exactly a 'battle frigate' is, I'm not sure. Somewhere between a battlecruiser and a frigate. Which would make it a cruiser, would it not? These naval designations applied to Starfleet never really work, do they. Either way, the Fabrux class frigate looks like a guitar pick with warp engines. And it'll either become one of your favourites in a hurry (it's VERY well armed, perhaps a little too well armed) or you'll dislike the design from the outset and refrain from commenting about it. And that's fine, but it's worth a look. :cool:

Note that the hardpoints are specifically named for their function, at least for the weapons, making this a noteworthy innovation in and of itself. Hope it works for everyone. Also, the ship has some pretty powerful weapons (quantum torps, Galaxy phasers AND a corbomite device) that some may consider overkill. Not like you don't know how to change the weapons loadout if it's too much for you. Indeed, the only point of fault on this model would be the registry on the saucer section, but then, that's easy enough to correct, if you've got the skill and the right programs. Everything you need is included --the .ODFs, the build button, the wireframe, and the Admirals' Log pic. Download it now and you'll be doing the Charleston at the big dance tonight. :cool:

The nacelles for example aren\'t as close to the saucer as they are \'suppose\' to be, and the saucer itself has changed from a circular shape, to more of a eight sided object? Still, whilst not the Sabre as we know it, this is an interesting take on the model, and I\'m sure it\'ll take. - Ash --------------------- Yes, this version does allow you to actually play it :p Whilst I\'m putting up this working version, just thought I\'d put my own views on it. I personally really like the texture and model job. Whilst it\'s not Sabre, you can clearly see what it was and see it still, pretty much, is. It has a sharp edge to it, but the odf will tell you otherwise. It does exactly the same in exactly the same way, just look slightly more kick ass then before. By slightly, I mean a lot. The pictures I don\'t think really do it justice. Content is the standard AM includes, that of a new admiral\'s pic and Borg textures to go with the new ship/textures respectively. As a stand-alone download, I\'d say this was very good, but I get the distinct impression that this is just the first (figuratively, we\'ve already had the Qeh\'Ral, Negh\'Var and Venator) of many stock-model re-do\'s, in which case, I say that I simply can\'t wait for them.

NX-class model with smaller-scale Sovereign nacelles. Obviously these Sov nacelles are not to scale because if they were the ship would have a cartoonishly small saucer section relative to its warp nacelles, as the standard-length Sovvy nacelle is roughly one and a half times the length of the NX with its nacelles (which are tiny by comparison) still attached.... Anyway, it's a "retro" concept of sorts but I can't help but think that Starfleet can do better. ;) Download this one if you want. :cool:

Vulcan transport like the ones seen in various TNG, DS9 and other episodes commonly referred to as the T\'Pau type (or occasionally mislabeled as the Apollo class). The ship itself looks good, at least as drab Vulcan ships go. Its only real fault is that, well, it doesn\'t come with a buildbutton or a wireframe. Admirals\' log pic is included, along with about seven textures about 200KB each, and a .SOD file. mishkaco went so far as to put together two .ODF files --one configured as an assault transport, the other a colony ship. Either way you want to use it, this is a welcome addition to the standard non-Starfleet UFP ships. :cool:

Also the textures seem to have different specular lighting which detracts from the textures even more. As for the vessel\'s concept. It\'s unique Romulan appearance, which is by design, does seem to fit it\'s bill as a Neutral-Zone patrol cruiser - for instance, if the Romulans would come across this vessel it would throw them off for a while (provided this vessel had a way of masking it\'s Federation signature) It definitely needs more work to be honest [b]- IKS[/b]

Ex Astris Scientia describes it as follows: "A Galaxy-class saucer, attached directly to a Constitution engineering section (no connecting dorsal). Three Galaxy-style warp nacelles; the first two are about where you'd expect, the third is attached directly below the shuttlecraft bay." Like most three-nacelled ships, this one's strictly for the "wtf?" factor. Pizza the Hutt also included some political commentary. Just ignore it and mod over it if you don't like it. Worth a look. Just not a long look or you might go blind. :cool:
what the cooly named USS Blackhole does. Under the guise of a freighter (more precisely, the data miner from a Federation campaign mission) it disables all required systems of a nearby enemy rendering it completely useless. Apart from transporting and unless you're playing a game of 'how quickly can I transport people', I doubt you'll be able to get a lot out of your craft, should this be used against you. The ship has no new model or textures, just sports its revised weapons and hull. It should be noted though, whilst it takes a long time to build and is moderately expensive, making it something of a mini-super-weapon, its hull is incredibly weak. Honestly, a battleship with enough range will destroy it before it has time to be disabled. Recommended use would be to have one in each of your fleet's, allowing you to maximise its effectiveness and not throw it open waiting to be shot down by anything with a decent range. Pushing this away though, it doesn't change the fact that this is a very powerful weapon, in the right hands. You could almost say it has similar effects to that of a black hole (well, not quite). Definitely a download.

ship uses the textures (normal and assimilated) of the stock Galaxy Class.
vessels that used the phaser strips that are so common in TNG. Starfleet wanted a small ship that would be able to test a knew style of warpengine and these new phaser strips. Equiping all of this (at the time) experimental technology on a large, expensive battle cruiser was seen as inefficient and careless. If the project were to fail it would be a large waste of resources, so the McMillan was drawn up to serve as a small frigate that would serve as a test bed to these new technologies. Now in the TNG era, the McMillan still serves as a frigate, but a lightly armed one. This ship is fast and has full phaser coverage, but it can't be expected to hang with the cruisers of today. The ship has a crew compliment of 112 and has 10 phaser strips that provide protection all around the ship. This ship has the speed and manueverability of a scout which can allow it to hang in a fire fight longer than most frigates. Included in this mod is all of the usual, odf, build button, wireframe, admirals log, borg texture and damage mesh/textures. :cool:

the first things I modded into my game was to give the assault type of ship a worthy class of vessel to call its own-- the Akira class. No sense in them travelling in separate troop transports. Especially when that transport barely seems capable of bearing the Marines' spare phasers into combat, let alone an actual complement of troops. Either way, there are numerous perfectly good uses for the warp sled. And these new hardpoints from adm_tyler should make it easier to take Interstellar Machine's beautiful re-texture of this otherwise unremarkable vessel and go into combat and glory one way or another. (Even as a cargo ship. Or a tug. Or maybe a repair vessel.) it look any different. I think what really makes this good is the fact that it's the old Akula design but better...not that the Akula was bad, it's just this is very good. Fans of the old design won't see anything different, so don't worry about that, this will simply just make it a little prettier to look at. Remember also, it has all the standard stuff, including a nice admiral's pic (I personally think stations or ship submits without these is a little bit upsetting). Download now people!

been streamlined too for slightly better weapons coverage. Model now include a Blank version, USS Enterprise NCC-1701-E, and USS Sovereign NCC-73811; all in Nemesis colors. Bouns models include and alternet blank in First Contact colors and a First Contact USS Enterprise. Textures are High res but the whole setup has full LODS for both Meshes and Textures. Enjoy!

Seraphim Classes also use the class as shuttlecrafts. The Arrow Class is equipped with phaser cannons and dual micro-quantum torpedo launchers. This is a fixed version of the ship, it should be absolutely bugfree now. Weapon ODF error and AIP errors are fixed.

saying that - the same effect could have been achieved by a simple ODF change which is why I think a retexture would have suited this mod alot especially since the SODs are hex edited to have differently named texture files. Another suggestion to give them the real effect of a fighter is they should have their own physics file that has the maxRoll, turnRadius, pitchRotationSpeed,etc...modified to behave as a fighter does. Also I think they are a bit big to be considered fighters so a change to the ScaleSOD. Maybe this could be done for a 1.1 release? quality of the model is very good and the concept of this type of vessel is commendable. The textures are better this time , the ship now has uniform textures all over the hull - well just about It does actually look like a feasible replacement to the Nebula (and the Nebula's role as a cheaper Galaxy variant) although it probably wouldn't be as cost effective as the Nebula in relation to the Galaxy as it does have most of the Galaxy's ship features and shape. [i]Tips/Hints[/i]: Because the mod doesn't contain any odf for the ship itself, I would suggest duplicating the Galaxy's ODF and renaming it neutron.odf. team colour stripes have obviously been removed from the Sod and the hardpoints have been enhanced along with the textures and ODF. To me it is an improvement as it matches the colour and style of the Sabre Class rather than the stock textures which aren't really. I guess everything is selective and relative to what you see as improvement but even though this texture job has the correct colouring and style, it is for me missing something......windows! and obvious markings of separate hull platings, and maybe the red paint stripe with the gold starfleet badge running along the broadside of the hull. Other than a few nit picks I'd say it's definitely worth checking out, but maybe the full 1.0 version will have the windows fitted. :) - [b]IKS[/b]

Galaxy's ODF and make the sufficient changes, so in that respect this mod is unfinished as it needs you to modify it to play it. The model quality is good and the concept is very cool, it even looks like it was a ship from the series itself but the textures are incomplete - the ventral side of the hull has two different shaded hull textures and the engineering section is not textured correctly. To be fair this ship has potential but the author released this way too soon, screenshots weren't even added (I did that myself while testing the ship). I would give it 8 for concept, 9 for potential but only 5 for implementation/execution.. hopefully the author will release a complete version of this vessel :| [b] - IKS[/b]

of the way, I can say that a ship with 5 necelles is a little on overkill. Four is bad enough. The ship is a modified BC conversion. The Taurus class is a late replacement of the Miranda class, used to fill its sizable shoes in post war operations. This is a kitbash of Aad\'s Miranda and Excelcior 2(or Centaur) models done by request. Everything should be ready to go for stock a2, button, wireframe, log pic, everything.

The Thunderchild was origionally an extensive refit of the USS Thunderchild, Akira Class, after it was heavily damaged during a battle with the Borg. Since then, the design has been rfined into a slightly heavier armed refit of the Akira with a physical appearance resembling that of a Steamrunner. Also, the author messed with the hue on one of the shots, so the necelle colors are messed up. They are standard red and blue.

This is a Federation escort I designed to practice texturing. It is armed with phasers, torpedoes, and pulse phasers. All hardpoints, including hardpoints for system targeting, are named for their intended purpose (see the readme for more).
close to the breif shot on the Enterprise episode, the textures are a bit of a put off (for me anyhow, don't know about the rest of you). Anyhow, included is the ship and textures, odf's and an admiral's log pic but does lack a buildbutton or wireframe. Perhaps the best course of action with this ship is to make it a map unit, it has that uniqueness to make it that. Otherwise, it's pretty free choice where you add it with the lack of any other install instructions (as a warning to those who rely on them). Recommend you put it as an advanced battleship, buildable in the second shipyard after all level 2 upgrades are researched. Still, the shape is all there, so, you should be able to get quite a bit of fun out of this.
