Special Edition Map Pack

mp_se_pak.zip | 29.72 MB

(se_mtn_assault) "You may recognize these names, but rest assured these are not the same maps you had previously installed. Each map has been tweaked for performance and gameplay. Airstrip and the Bunker have been totally redesigned and bear little resemblence to the originals. These maps are not meant to replace the original maps either, rather they should be looked at as entirely new maps. We hope that this map pack revives interest in custom maps and in the game itself. This pack includes the first 4 missions in the Special Edition series and there will be expansion maps added in the future. These maps are intended to be played in order to follow the storyline." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rummie and Nib have taken their now classic maps and reworked them into streamlined more fps and gameplayer friendly and exciting versions. Dividing their 2 maps and interchanging the stories to meet the following mappers work is a first for RtCW,a total of 4..hopefully more mappers can combine efforts and continue to bring us more story driven linked maps. **** Det Pak They have arrived. It seemed like only yesterday I heard rumors of a "special edition" of the nib and rummie maps. I was excited at the idea itself but the outcome blows my first concepts of it away. The maps are really remade to look real, most of these maps are the most realistic looking maps on RTCW to date. Nib's Bunker map has been redesigned to some extent to make it one of the funnest maps i have played. Nib and Rummie definately have spent a long time on this map pak but i think the wait was worth it. Airstrip and Bunker are probably my favorites of the maps, but all of them look remastered to their ultimate perfection. And also a nice tip about the maps is the mappers like to play on them, so you might see Rummie running at you with a grenade. I rank this map pak as one if not the greatest map pak for RTCW to date. GOTY competes with it but this one is really good and shows the maximum of RTCW. Good work Nib and Rummie, Keep it up! Reviewed by KoRn-Warrior-

predecessor, with the Allies attempting to blast there way into an Axis military installation across a high bridge. The Allies must storm the fortified Axis base to locate, steal, and transmit top secret Axis documents. Dangerous Waters - A smaller, more in-your-face map in which Allied forces are taking over an Axis U-boat base. Axis forces must escort the last remaining U-boat out of the pen, even if it means blasting their way out... Railed - A secret Axis radar prototype is scheduled to be shipped out from an abandoned factory. Allied forces must navigate through the facility, steal the prototype, and then escape to the waiting truck. Vapor - This is a \'TFC style\' CP map that I had originally indented to release with an older map of mine, \'Toxicity\'. It never got released, and has been sitting in my maps folder for a while. I thought I would include it in this map pack, so I cleaned it up a little and stuck it in.

Marko's Map Pack

(Final) Carnage Canyon (Final) This mappack containt 2 very nice maps: Carnage canyon and Silo base. Silo Base: Allies Objectives: - Destroy the Axis Silo Control equipment - Destroy the Axis Radio transmission equipment in the back room of the axis base Axis Objectives: - Stop the Allies invasion - Silo base entrance and the equipment "Allies start in a sorage area which leads to the axis Silo Base. They have 2 objectives to destroy and the map is quite narrow which means it might be a hard task and maybe a bit unfair for Allies. I hope it all turns out well...." Carnage canyon: Allies Objectives: - Breach the Sea Wall - Destroy the Axis underground facility entrance door - Destroy the Axis Radio transmission equipment in the Axis Back bunker Axis Objectives: - Stop the Allies invasion - Protect the underground facility entrance and the radio equipment "Allies arrive on the Axis beach of Carnage Canyon and have to break through the Axis defence and fight their way up to the underground facility which gives access to the 2 beach bunkers in order to destroy the communication equipment." Note: This mappack contains 2 outdated maps, the updated and FINAL versions of the 2 maps in this map pack can be found through the links below: Silo Base (Final) Carnage Canyon (Final) Now for the reviews on both maps. Silo base Map Review By HotShot Objectives-There's 2 objectives (See screenshots) for the Allies. 1. Destroy the Silo Controls 2. Destroy the Axis Radio Transmission Center. Overall- This is a decent map. The Allies start of in a room with bunkers, and the Axis start of inside the base. the layout of this map is nice. Outside of the bunker room the Allies will have to blow up the tunnel walls with grenades to get towards the main base. The outside area of the map is fairly big so theres plenty of room to get about :). Also Marko has placed some signs around the map so the Allies can find there way to there objectives. So you have no excuse for getting lost. The plus sign for the Axis is that there is on or two gun placements that can be accessed easily and one of them is in a good place to defend the silo controls :). Theres plenty of crates for you to get cover and there is also some truck trailers for you to hide in. The textures in this map are mainly from the game but they look ok. The good thing about the texturing is that Marko hasn't used all the same textures for buildings or tunnels etc.. This map will prove to be fun with alot of players as its fairly big. Its nicely balanced so there aint much advantage for each side. I would recommend this map especially if you like playing it with alot of people because that will be its strong point. Note: This mappack contains 2 outdated maps, the updated and FINAL versions of the 2 maps in this map pack can be found through the links below: Silo Base (Final) Carnage Canyon (Final) Carnage canyon Map Review By HotShot Objectives-There is a total of 3 objectives (see screenshots) for the Allies to complete. 1. Breach the sea wall. 2. Destroy the Axis underground facility entrance door. 3. Destroy the radio transmitter in the Axis back Bunker. Overall-This map has 3 simple objectives which can only be done in the right oreder :). Each objective leads to another so it wont be to confusing. There is a slight error with the 3rd objective. The error is that the dynamite symbol does not show up when you are near the transmitter. Instead it just says you are near the Bunker Transmitter Center. But that is a minor flaw because the bunker is small enough for you to place your dynamite anywhere inside it and it will still blow up the radio transmitter. One more minor error is that a couple of textures appear blurry but you wont have much time to be bothered about this :) As for the rest of the map the outside areas are quite large and there is rocks on the floor which means u can go various ways. Inside the base there is a few different corridors leading to the back bunker which will make things that little easier for the Allies :). Also for the Axis they have acces to the sea wall so if your quick and good enogh you may stop the allies from breaching it. But personaly i would stay and defend the facility door. Three of my favourite parts of this map are the beach (where the allies start of) and the button that launches mortars. The 3rd is the bunkers which will allow all those who love sniping to strutt there stuff :) Overall apart from one or two minor errors this is a great map and should be lots of fun with a fairly large amount of players.
