to find one that suits you. Here is a list of the features you\'ll find with this model: -Multiple versions including an Anakins, Obi-Wan\'s, Vader\'s, Plo Koons, Yoda\'s, and a Hot Rod design. -Animated wing foils -- can be flown with wing foils in the open or closed position. -To fly with the wing foils open, simply perform a normal take off allowing the animation to be initiated. -To fly with the wing foil closed, begin a normal take off, then press forward soon after take off making sure to do so before the animation can begin. - -Primary weapon fire -- green imperial lasers -Secondary weapon fire -- missile\'s -Barrel Roll -- using the \"Step Left\" and \"Step Right\" buttons (which I strongly suggest you reverse) will allow you to barrel roll and control the vehicle in a manner very much like the way they were flown in the movie. Be sure to read the readme for important information on how to use this vehicle, and enjoy! ~Inyri

Darth Maul used in Episode 1. There is a mega weapon called MEGA BOOM! Yes, I said Mega Boom! It is pretty fast and the seating looks perfect. I don\'t think I will ever see such a good-looking vehicle model. The detail is amazing even beautiful. There is so much work put into this, Duncan and Monsoontide make a very good team. There is a very big explosion with the new weapon it has so it blows up twice and destroys you to shreds. So now I must say awesome job Monsoontide I really like this and this one is staying in my base folder forever! Great Job to both of you keep up the great work! Hoverboard

hoverboard_if.zip | 2.44 MB

Forge. There are two pk3s in this pack, one containing the main hoverboard, and another containing extra skins and a single player swoop replacement. When I first loaded this up, I noticed that the readme said that the pack with the extra skins would work only if the other pack was not included. However, after loading up the game this way and finding myself riding a stormtrooper, I guessed that it was a typo that meant to say "will not work without hoverboard_if.pk3" :p Once I sorted that out, I played the Swoop level of JA with the hoverboards. First thing I noticed was the new animations. The weaponless hoverboard stance was the staff stance, which worked pretty well. For the E-11, it was the same, but with the E-11 held sideways, which I thought was pretty cool. With the saber, the hands were held to the side, which was a good pick. The attacking animation, though, was not all that great. It was the sideways staff slash. Due to this, it was pretty hard to actually hit other swoop riders, which was annoying. Something else I noticed, when I was riding along with my saber out, and hit a big bump, the saber went under the hoverboard while I fell and then back to the hand. It can actually look cool at times, spinning around like that, but most of the time it looks like the saber goes nuts and decides to attack the ground before returning to the hand. Now on to the model itself... The model seems to be a simple, yet effective one. Being what it is, something more complex may look bad. The skins are all well done, also, both in the quality of them and the variety of them. All in all, I think that this is a good vehicle set, even with the very few problems I had with it. I encourage you all to download this file for yourselves.

Aratech 74-Z Speeder Bike

speeder_bike_dun03.zip | 652.69 KB

JKR solely in mind, I get the feeling that Duncan_10158 was somewhat inspired by JKR. Duncan_10158 is best known for his Sebulba, Hutt and Gamorrean models. Now that JKA is here, it seems he took a small detour from the character models and focused on this, Aratech 74-Z. Much like the swoop, this vehicle can be spawned by players in the game or added to maps by mappers. Duncan_10158 gives anyone permission to use his model in their maps, as long as he\'s given proper credit in the readme, of course. :) ~AmosMagee

The hailfire\'s animation looks great as it rolls around. Quite a smooth ride. :) The author mentioned in the readme that it was made specifically for Siege maps. That could add quite an interesting element to the game. They\'re much more maneuverable than AT-ST\'s and are lower to the ground and they shoot rockets! And I love rockets! So yay! ~AmosMagee

Anakin\'s Custom Jedi Starfighter (v1.1)

anakinjsf11.zip | 857.35 KB

one of those yellow Naboo Starfighters from the Phantom Menace, except in blue. As usual, I couldn\'t fly it and ended up crashing every time. Whilst i died, I did notice a little bug. When the fighter blows up, it turns into an xwing blowing-up model. So you blow up as an X-wing instead of Anakins Starfighter. Naturally, you don\'t usually see it under all the flames which burn you to death, but just thought I should mention it. I was also unsure which author to put this under, as it seems credit should go equally to two authors. As the developer system is a little buggy I went with Zymotico, because he was already listed, but don\'t forget Neo_knight\'s part in this cool ship. Good work guys. Or is it guys? LOL never mind. Good work.
So there you have it. For the v1.1, not a whole lot has changed in terms of design, but there are a few. Firstly theres the R4 droid, which is a nice addition. The engines have also been changed, with the center one being removed, which in my opinion, is a not so nice \'addition.\' At least I can\'t see an x-wing when it blows up now :) One thing hasn\'t changed though. I still cant fly the darn thing :) ~Szico VII~

at a fair bit while retaining a lot of texture detail. I honestly can\'t find a fault with this model, it handles well, it looks good, it sounds good (even though it doesn\'t have any custom sounds) and it fires both forwards (normal attack) and backwards (alt attack)! The size of the vehicle is also quite good, it is still smaller than it should be (like all JA vehicles) but it is closer to scale than most as in your character is just a bit too big to fit into the cockpit instead of being half the size of the vehicle! -WadeV1589-

Sebulba\'s Pod Racer

sebulbapod06.zip | 771.94 KB

JK3Files.com. Thanks for doing this review, Lindsey! :) ~Amy (AmosMagee) --------------------- No doubt many of you have seen Duncan\'s excellent work as a modeler in Jedi Academy, such as his Droideka, his ATAT, Swoop bike from ROTJ, and several skins. It came as a shock when Duncan without warning decided to stop modeling for the game. No one is sure yet why he decided to quit. This pod racer was being designed for one of Sith J Cull\'s maps-Boonta Eve Classic, in which this pod racer, and a few others were to be made for the map, however, only this model was completed to my knowledge. I\'d like to thank Duncan for letting me release this model, and for all his hard work on JA/JO. He has brought enjoyment to many people. Now, onto the review- Duncan has done excellent skinning of the model; from the engines to the power coupling (the purple laser) that connects the two jet engines together. The model is based off the swoop from JA, so only the cockpit of the model is clipped; the engines are not, which makes them go thru hills or walls when the player is driving. The model also is a bit stiff to control, and it should be faster, this is a model based off a vehicle that exceeds 600 M.P.H after all. The vehicle is also huge, as you can see from my line up pic below, the pod racer towers above the swoop, ATST, and gives the shuttle there a run for its money on size. Sound effects have been added that give idle, running, and turn off sounds to the racer. Please note however, that it will also change the sound effects on the swoops, though personally I like the new sounds vs the ones JA had. I highly recommend that Star Wars fans download this. Perhaps some brave reskinner will up the speed, add clipping to the engines, and maybe put out a few other models. Lindsey P.S-I\'d like to thank Amos Magee for letting me write this guest review, perhaps in the near future you\'ll be reading more reviews by me ;)

review his work. ;) It\'s always rewarding to review something by someone who is consistantly good at what he does. :) Anakin\'s Speeder is proof of that consistancy. There are two versions of this speeder in the pk3. You can use it like a swoop, and while it has no weapons on it, you can use a blaster or your saber. The other version will let you fly the speeder like a ship. Which I\'m really bad at, so I didn\'t take screenshots of me doing that. :D Great work, as always, Mars! ~AmosMagee

Anakins Podracer

anikanspod.zip | 292.47 KB

took me a while to figure out how to spawn it after trying anakins_pod and all other variations.. Aparently it's just Anipod which was in the readme, shows what happens when you don't look! The vehicle itself isn't too bad. It does look amazingly basic though. It's modelled from a swoop bike so you know when the swoop hovers slightly, this does the same but oooh so different this thing doesn't hover.. IT JUMPS. Sometimes it's a nightmare to get in it. Also when you do manage to get in you'll notice it's hella fast. I crossed the entire of farcry of the jedi in under 2 seconds, that's from edge to edge. Now for problems the only one I really had was the handling of it, usually I'm fine with any sort of handling because it evens out the vehicle. But once you get this pod going in one direction, you'll be damned if you can stop it without taking 5-10 seconds getting it into another. Also another thing that bugged me is that the pod would tilt from side to side for no reason what so ever. I found that to be more annoying that a nice little addon. So yeah although I think this is a good vehicle you'd need alot of space on a map to use it. (also the screenshots are dark because farcry of the jedi is the only map large enough to try testing it on, that's with brightness up too, might need a better monitor :P) -Mithran-

supposed to get a Millennium Falcon, but of course you don\'t instead you get a nice invisible ship, at least that happens to me. Now one interesting thing about this ship is you can\'t fly it very simply unless you have a lot of room to fly. It’s also a giant kill target so if you are waiting to be killed here you are :O. The look is simply amazing, but I have one complaint and that is I have the hardest time getting into the darn thing I have to search the whole thing for an opening where I can get in the ship then of course I get stuck to the wall :/. Overall this is an awesome job for the Millennium Falcon so great job Mars! Now there were a few errors, but nothing that messed with game play and I couldn\'t hear any new sounds unfortunately, but who cares you can fly it somewhat so that’s good enough! I still wish that it wasn\'t so hard to lift off because you automatically get stuck in a wall because it’s so big but oh well :). Great Job Mars looking forward to see the rest of those files :). -XgamerX New Sounds: Not sure New Textures: Yes

The skinning on it, thanks to Darth_Cuillere, makes the model look beautiful, from the excellent weapon skinning to the slightly faded red paint. The geometry of the model itself is quite detailed. Minilogo didn\'t seem to leave anything important out. The effects have also been well done (we get green lasers and some nice blue proton torpedos). It also comes with a spunky little R2 unit. It is fun to ride, but the legs constantly moving (even when not moving) is a bit distracting. Mars DID say it was glitchy, so I\'m not too bothered by it. Tri-Fighter is a fully automated fighter created by the Seperatists, and is first seen in the Battle Over Coruscant scene in Episode Three. The Battle of Coruscant map is also where we saw the first Droid Tri-Fighter vehicle. However, its quality was very poor, so Inyri decided to make it better. And after working for about two weeks, she has succeeded. On to the review itself. The model itself is very accurate, and so is the texturing. Also, the little vehicle is a powerhouse. And not just any powerhouse, but a powerhouse of doom. It's powerful. Almost too powerful. But powerful is good. :) I loved the accuracy of the model, as well as its massive amount of firepower. It\'s spot on, for the most part. I\'ll admit, to me the wings look a little thicker than maybe they should be (this makes them look *very* angular, even though they\'re supposed to be), but other than that I can\'t find any serious flaws at all. that this is a rideable version of them, dubbed the "Lucky Shot", brought to us by SpeedStar. The vehicle handles just like a swoop, hovering a few feet off the ground, and only being able to move forward, back, etc. It also has a pretty cool weapon set to it. It looked quite familiar to me, but i can't quite put my finger on where. Sadly, I think this weapon is really only there as eye candy. Even though it has an impressive splash effect as it hits a wall, it does little to absolutely no damage. I'm guessing it has no splash damage set, and aiming with with this thing to achive an actual hit is near impossible. :( Also, this may confuse a few people as it confused me in the first few minutes. If you have a weapon drawn, maybe have your saber on, you cannot fire, and since no driver is drawn when you use this, there's no real way of telling. If you can't fire, try pressing 1 and see if that works. Overall, those bugs take away it's fun factor a bit, perhaps Speedstar, you should look into those bugs, both are extremely easy to fix. :) In any case, it's a fun vehicle to use. It just needs a bit of a tuneup in some cases. :) -TiM

R41 Starchaser

r41_if.zip | 4.2 MB

Starchaser is a starfighter comparable to the Z-95 Headhunter. In fact the R41 was created to directly compete with the Z-95 for king of the low-budget starfighters. It was slightly faster and slightly more powerful, thus making it a popular choice for smugglers, pirate, and criminal organization, such as Black Sun. Because of its status as a budget fighter, the R41 is generally \"personalized\" by whoever is using it. The producers of the R41, Heorsh-Kessel Drive Inc, creates them this way, so everything from the armament to the hyperdrive can be customized by the buyer. As a result almost no two R41 Starchasers are quite the same. This is certainly another well done model by Inyri, even though some people might not even know what it is! She has included two versions of the R41. There is a regular version, and a Black Sun version. I liked the Black Sun version better than the regular, because, I liked green and black. But the only difference between the two versions is color. I would have liked to see some missiles, or something, added to the Black Sun version. But hey, then it wouldn\'t be considered accurate! Adding on to the accuracy is the fact that the R41 is very weak. Two hits from a turbolaser destroy it. And there\'s only one weapon, and it\'s blasters. TIE V-38 Assault Fighter

tiev38_if.zip | 2.08 MB

ever conceived, aside from the Tie-Defender, of course. In Rebel Assault 2, it was quite weak, but had a cloaking device which made it incredibly hard to destroy. Unfortunately, if you want to see the cloaking device in action with this model, you'll also need to install the 'Open Jedi Project' mod, which can also be found on this site. It does work though, but to be honest I'd rather not have to download a whole other mod just so I can get a cloaking device on this model to work. :( The vehicle itself is a little different from what I'd have liked. That's not to say its worse but it is definitely different. The one I loved from RAII had a spherical cockpit, and was a blueier colour around the wing edges. If there's one main criticism I have about this model though, it’s the rear view of it. It never looked that chunky from behind in the original movies of it, and it looks rather bloated when you're steering it. :( I also think the cockpit glass looks a little flat, but short of designing the whole interior of the cockpit, I'm not sure what could be done about that. From all other views though, this model looks awesome. The three wing setup and triple engines work very well, and save the new shape of the cockpit, it’s essentially the same vehicle from the original game. I did see tie-fighter wings coming out of it when it blew up though, which was somewhat disconcerting ;) If I was a better pilot, I'd definitely keep this to go out and kill some rebel scum, although I think from a fairness point of view, the cloaking device on this model gives the user a somewhat unfair advantage. Still, it's great fun! :D ~Szico VII~

Flying Interrogator Vehicle

pod.zip | 2.92 KB

take up more space than what you can see. When I walked near it, it felt like I was walking through something that was holding me back, and even affected the graphics/environment around me. I\'m not quite sure how to explain it. Then I hopped in and decided to fly around. It\'s really hard to control and it doesn\'t seem to have any weapons enabled. So I guess you just ... fly around in it. Anyway, it needs a bit more work, but I love almost anything mini, so I love the look of this. :D ~AmosMagee

Coralskipper

coralskipper.zip | 1.03 MB

in front of my eyes, I cannot help but to lend a degree of appreciation towards it. This is the Coralskipper, the basic starfighter of the Yuuzhan Vong from the New Jedi Order series. Like its creators, it is completely organic, each componet being made up of living creatures. Its armamants include two smaller beings that project high-speed balls of searing-hot plasma, and a larger, more powerful creature between them that belches larger, more destructive plasma balls. Also, another creature called a dovin basal, is used in place of shields. It operates by opening small black holes in space to suck up incoming fire. As a additional effect, the author made the shields silver-black to simulate the effect. I\'m loving it. :D The only existing bug is that the weapons will fire off at an angle whenever you are not aiming at anything, but you only _need_ to shoot at other people anyways don\'t you? Battlestar Galactica Vehicle Pack

bsg_vehicle_pack.zip | 15.14 MB

watched. This pack, however, brings intrigue to me. Pra Viilon, a long time clan leader, has taken advantage of a modeller name Coxxon\'s collection of Battlestar Galactica vehicle models that were \"free game to the public,\" and brought them to JK3 for us. Before I begin, I must say that all of these models are beautifully done, so hats off to Coxxon for his magnificent work there. Now, all of these vehicles share between 3 vehicle weapons, so fortunately for you all, there won\'t be a huge overload of vehicle weapons(since there is indeed a limit.) The weapons are as follows: Viper Gun: Though the weapon obviously is designated for the Viper, this weapon is carried by every ship in the pack. The effect is actually a very amusing one: It\'s the heavy repeater effects, both in sound and visual effects. Mind you, this means by default you\'d be firing beans, but imagine if you were to, say, download the [file=\"72979\"]DC-15A Rifle,[/file] then you could be firing some kinky blue lasers, which is most potent. However, I found that it was just fine without the modification. Nuke: Effectively what appears to be a nuclear missle, this weapon uses a modified torpedo effect with an extra kick. The damage is naturally quite potent, and the effect on your screen is quite dramatic...and disorienting. Bomb: This weapon seems to be unique in that it is the only weapon that is meant to be fired down at the ground, and that it seems to be only in the possession of one ship. Essentially, it\'s what one would think it is, a bomb to drop onto ground forces. Now, with the weapons taken into account, let\'s see what we\'ve got: - Viper MK. I: AKA, the original Viper from the classic series. This one is a vehicle that the community has seen before, created by [file=\"43473\"]Mars Marshall.[/file] This vessel is the least armed of the bunch, sporting only two Viper Guns, and it looks a bit clunky compared to its newer brethren, but it\'s still a sturdy model, and has the ability to roll left and right, a feat not every JK3 vehicle possesses. Armament: 2x Viper Gun - Viper MK. II: A much more cleaner model than its predecessor, marked by its sharper paint job and slimmer, more compact tri-thruster design and the additional armament. Just conserve your shots, as you only get two missles. Armament: 2x Viper Gun, 2x Nuclear Missles - Viper MK. VII: Wow O_o...what a farcry from the other Vipers. This thing looks closer to a real life jet than it does a sci-fi vessel. Still has the tri-barrel jets, but a much slimmer, grayer design, but not at the expense of flare, weaponry, or the rolling capability its predecessors had. Armament: 3x Viper Gun, 2x Nuclear Missles Welp, that covers the Vipers. Now, we move onto the Raiders, a set of vessels in the dominion of the Cylons, whom I remember as being quite clunky and robotic. Very amusing bunch, but the Raiders are still quite awesome: - Old Raider: This is the classic Raider from the old series, from what I understand. It appears to be the most unique of the bunch in its saucer-like shape, and its ability to hurl bombs. Despite its bulky size, the old raider remains a very nimble unit, and can roll away as well. Armament: 2x Viper Gun, 20x bombs - New Raider: Now THIS Raider received a MASSIVE imaginative overhaul. No longer the clunky saucer it once was, this new raider has a sleek new design with a monochrome silver paintjob, sleek curved wings outfitted with Viper Guns, and a cockpit whose design looks to be based off the Cylon\'s helmets. Very snazzeh indeed =_= and it rolls. Armament: 2x Viper Gun, 2x Nuclear Missles - Heavy Raider: Wow, this thing is a monster O_o; basically, the cylon cockpit has been grafted onto a large peculiar hull. With it, a massive upgrade in firepower has been bestowed. Though it can\'t roll, it can hover in mid-air, unleashing its barrage of lasers upon both aerial and ground targets with equal prowess. Not a ship whose attention you want to attract. Armament: 6x Viper Gun, 4x Nuclear Missles That covers the Raiders, and now, we cover my favorite of the vehicles, the Raptor. Now I have NO idea what the Raptor is associated with, but it\'s basically the answer to the Heavy Raider. There are only two versions, an unarmed and an armed. Now the unarmed is a bit of a misgnomer, as it does have a single Viper Gun for defense, but the armed version has a massive edge. Both can hover, and both are very awesome looking frigates. Armament(Unarmed): 1x Viper Gun (Armed) 2x Viper Gun, 28x Nuclear missles So, about the map...WAIT, WHAT?!? A MAP?! You bet your ass. Anyone who remembers [file=\"76372\"]Flight School Final[/file] will be glad to know that Pra converted the map to use the Battlestar Galactica Vehicles included in this pack. However, you require the original map pack to play it, though the vehicles included with it are not compulsory, so fear. There y\'have it, kiddies. One massive vehicle pack that earns my most favorable gaze, which I guess in this case would be \"=_,=\" .... .... .... ..... What? - Averus Retruthan

definitely recognise what it is, but the model is a very basic attempt at recreating the vehicle and the texturing could be vastly improved. Additionally, it has no weapons and no engine effects. Oh yeah, and when it blows up you see bits of an X-Wing... that\'s not right is it? There are 3 separate versions, the standard, the Jedi and the Sith. The Jedi and standard are practically identical, save a small logo, and the sith is just a black version. Nice idea, but definitely an idea which could go further with a more detailed model and improved texture work. On the plus side, it is one of the vehicles I find easier to fly :)
Well that\'s what I thought of the first version, and I can see that the author has taken onboard some of my suggestions there as well as the ones posted in the comments, which is always good to see :) It looks far more realistic now the engine works, although it\'s still a pretty useless vehicle if it doesn\'t have any weapons. The textures have been improved, and a little more \'definition\' has been added using embossing, however I think more can still be added - perhaps through more model detail instead of more texture work. Oh yes, and when the engine is turned off the engine looks wrong, as you can see the same texture there as the rest of the model. Additionally, the X-Wing bug has been fixed. :) Quite an improvement over the pervious model, but still plenty of room for improvement, keep at it :) ~Szico VII~

Exiled Clan Vehicles Shuttle and X-Wing MOD

exiled_vehicles.rar | 9.83 MB

because I\'ve nothing unbiased to say at this point =_o the main feature lies within the vehicle function anyway. The X-wing now has: - Upped Speed and Turbo - Two person capacity - Roll limit of 65 and a violet crosshair. Mr. Shuttle has - Higher Speed - Turbo - 32 passenger capacity Okay, apparently the shuttle was built to be a runaway freight train. The handling was not compensated for the speed, so don\'t expect to get into an effective dogfight. Otherwise, everything\'s green. =_= - Averus Retruthan

Mara Jade\'s Shrike

shrike_if.zip | 1.91 MB

vehicle known as Mara Jade\'s \"Shrike.\" A rather boxy vessel, it lands and takes off in the over-the-top style. This particular vessel seems to use its wings\' fins for what the Master referred to as a \"kickstand.\" What he\'s talking about, I\'ve no clue. In its flight form, the vessel looks slightly more appealing, but I must say that it looks like a box with wings regardless. If that was the original design, I will not intervene with my opinion. Most concerning is how it is only armed with laser cannons. I do not see how this would last long in battle. Regardless, the master bids no ill will to it, so it will not be harmed. A well-constructed vessel overall. *hears something disturbing* =_o; Excuse me.. ~ Xathon

actually do it - I need to read the readmes BEFORE testing files. I spawned the Bantha in a map and thought it ate me. I was standing in the stomach of a Bantha! I didn't realize I could just walk backwards a bit to get out of it, so I just killed myself and came back to ride it. It is fun to ride, but the legs constantly moving (even when not moving) is a bit distracting. Mars DID say it was glitchy, so I'm not too bothered by it. Anyway, have fun with this new model. :D ~AmosMagee

NightRaider

nightraider.zip | 900.96 KB

about this vehicle is the skinning. It is incredibly random. The wings look like they\'re just a compilation of the filters, and the fuel nacelles (or whatever they are) are blue with little swirly waves on them. As I said, random. No shaders, either. It might\'ve looked almost good had the fuel nacelles been a nice shiny chrome. Some new sounds would have been nice as well, rather than just using TIE Fighter sounds. The other thing that bothered me about this vehicle is how small it is. It\'s probably about the size of a go-kart, with no visible place for a pilot to sit, much less steer the thing. My conclusion: it\'s an unmanned craft... however the player character still enters it, so it gets negative points for believability. My suggestion to the author would be that if you\'re going to make up a vehicle from your imagination, don\'t go halfway. Figure it all out, make it believable, and if you can\'t skin it, get a partner to work with you who can. ~Inyri

Howler And Gonks as Vehicles

howlerandgonk_vehicles.zip | 6.33 KB

mighty steed, and the other version is where you're sitting inside of him, somehow jammed inside his internal organs. With the gonk, you just get inside the tiny little thing and drive around. Put those together, add a little speed and turbo, and you have a funny-as-hell mod. What looks more funnier then just walking down a street, then VOOM a little lizard thing comes flying by you at like 50mph? What about finding a droid in the middle of nowhere, then all of a sudden seeing him fly away to Neverland? First when I tested it, I spawned to mp/ffa3 because I thought it was going to be like the regular NPCs but you controlled them. Boy was I wrong! I got in the howler, turned off the parking brake, put the key in, checked my rear view mirror, put it in drive and said "meh. Lets get this over with." Hitting the boost I was suddenly rocketed across the little square I was in. I was like "HOLY FISH PASTE" and immediately jumped out at the risk of my life. How amazed I was at the spectacular diet that it must have eaten to have acquired such rocket fusion and neuromanic distortion. Yes I just made that up, but I'll leave the rest of the file up for you to test. Enjoy ;) ~Authuran

Episode III Lego Spaceships

ep3_lego_vehicles.zip | 4.9 MB

games are great! Not to mention hilarious. Plus I'm old enough to remember when playing with legos as a kid was cool. And not those crazy packs you got where you had something practically pre-assembled for you. No. I'm talking about getting a big box of legos and someone saying "Here you go, good luck!" Oh those were the days... So for those who aren't familiar with the concept of Lego Star Wars, it's one of the Star Wars Trilogies as told through legos. Yeah, duh, right? Well these three fighters -- the vulture droid, the tri-fighter, and the jedi starfighter -- are made of legos. And they're not too badly done. They look like lego vehicles as you would expect them to look when made out of knobby plastic. My one complaint is the amazing inefficiency of these models. They use a lot of triangles! I've had problems with this same thing in the past, so I'm not getting up on a soap box pretending I'm perfect, but 9000 triangles for a Jedi Starfighter is a little excessive. Way more detail in the mesh than needed, since it won't be deforming. Also the smoothing groups were rather poorly assigned, and this shows very much in-game. All the peg parts look rounded when they should be flat on top. Other than that, I'd just say cut down on the triangles, put your entire skinmap on one image to immensely save on file size, and you'll probably have a fine product. Considering these are all animated, they're definitely worth a download if you like the style and don't mind them lagging your machine ever so slightly. ~Inyri

Storm

storm.zip | 1.45 MB

Courtship of Princess Leia for those interested). From what I've seen this ship looks structurally accurate. The skin could be better, and there are no custom sounds or shaders, but it does look very Hapan, as it should. Structurally it looks very complete, and far from blocky. Hapan ships, after all, are very streamlined, and this ship reflects that style. It's a bit lacking in the skinning, however. They are improved over some older projects, but still have plenty of room for more improvement. The skin itself looks like a basic gradient with some areas making use of photoshop's bevel tool rather than being done by hand. I could be wrong here, but that's the impression it gives out. This unfortuantely makes the skin look more like plastic than metal -- not a great look for a starfighter. The lights on the skin all seem to be simply opaque spots, as if he just picked a larger, hard-edged brush and clicked with a solid color. Don't get me wrong, it's tons better than just slapping a random pattern on there like SithDagger has done in the past, it could just use a little more work, and good metal skinning techniques come with time and practice. Some customized sounds would have been nice, rather than simply the TIE sounds that are included, but they work okay for the function. Overall a good fighter, and despite it lacking slightly in a few areas I'd definitely give it a download if you're tired of some of the more typical-looking fighters available. Hapan fighters have a unique style that is mimicked neither by the Rebellion or the Empire, so it'll be something brand new ;). ~Inyri

Glider Vehicle

46glider_vehicle.zip | 834.27 KB

brings us this cool little mod which actually allows you to fly the Glider! Flying around on a giant lizard bird thing? Yes please! :D To spawn the glider, you need to make sure cheats are enabled on the server, or your server has a mod like JA+ which allows people to spawn vehicles. To spawn the glider you need to put: /npc spawn vehicle glider_vehicle In the console! Ok so maybe you don’t exactly fly \'on\' it, unfortunately the character does not appear to sit on top of the bird, which is a shame, but I honestly have no idea how you could mod this to make the player appear to be sitting on the glider. Still, I guess you could pretend you are the glider. Maybe pretend to be a Hitchcock style psycho bird and just randomly attack people?! Unfortunately though this bird does not carry guns under its wings, so you will have to use the beak! Either way I had quite a bit of fun flying this around, and there are also some new sounds as well! Amusingly the bird actually \'explodes\' when it takes enough damage. Evidently it must have eaten something rather combustible for lunch! All in all a very fun little mod here, give it a try! :D ~Nozyspy~

JediNoob Red Squadron X-Wing Fighter Pack V1

jn_red_squadron_fighters_v1.zip | 13.17 MB

Squadron, Red Leader to Red Five. This would be all well and good, but...honestly, it looks like 13 MB of work was done for like, what, maybe 800 KB of product, maybe less? I\'ve been looking at the content inside for half an hour now. The only major differences I can note in this pack: - The X-Wings now have static droid choices, versus just random. - If you use the improved R2 mod, it\'ll change the idle babble the droids make. Otherwise, there appears to be NO difference in the skin content, at all. I looked painstakingly at all the screenshots, the textures, in-game renderings, even the .npc and .veh files. If this was intended to be a prank or joke, you succeeded, because goddess help me, I see no other reason to duplicate all this data save for either taking the long route of modding or just plain wasting a reviewer\'s time. I swear, I exhausted myself to insanity. All in all, I\'d say in the future, at least differentiate some textures on the Red Squadron members instead of keeping them all the same. If you can get a hold of a nice decal of a tie-fighter/bomber, plop some on the side to display just how many enemy fighters these heroes have destroyed, and maybe, just maybe.....a numerical depiction of their squad position? So, that\'s my spiel on it. Sorry if it sounded harsh, but I just had to be frank about how maddening the effort to file size and purpose ratio was. - Averus Retruthan
