A Bridge Too Far

is a large bridge at the top of the map... i don't know why it doesn't sever any purpose, just there for looks i guess. The start point has a good amount of build space. the map has little his and is very detailed, there are a few little towns scattered around the map. It's a pretty good map. By the way, the Ai is enabled so you can play it as a skirmish or online.

the same. Review: North America is a two player map based on; you guessed it, continental North America. It bears a startling resemblance to real geography. Mountain ranges, plains, all of these things look familiar. I was impressed by the attention to detail put in to creating a real world setting. It features 4 Supply Depots, three of which are easily claimed by the northern player as the ‘Great Lakes’ act as a natural barrier. Tech buildings are located on the coast, which I assume is a representation of cities. That’s it really. I expected better from an Official Map. It is featureless, uninspiring and utterly, utterly dull. There are no tactical objectives, choke points, things to even look at. I won’t bother playing this map again. Ever. This is my first map review; I really hope the quality improves.

be aquired. There shouldnt be any money problems because i made all the warehouse piles have $75,000 instead of $30,000. You will be attacked early. For the GLA players there are parking lots with cars you can hijack these are in the far corners of map. There are helixs near your base to aquire and i replaced the loud heli blades with milder ones. The water looks aqua color, look around and enjoy your trip at the lake. AI works nice. Note: the artillary looks realistic.

heavy defensive stations at their borders. There is also a river that can be used to float some water forces in (that was to keep in mind a water force mod if you got it). The overuse of bunkers/towers are to send home the feeling of a well defended area. I don\'t expect anyone to garrison all the bunkers with troops (it\'d be nice though), just move a few twin veteran force\'s between em\' if you wish. I want to say that it is no \"real\" recreation of the N/S Korean border. Just a nice stand off map that I had in mind for a while. Enjoy.

was one of my best offerings. The name counting coup comes from a Native American style of battle. It is pretty much how many horses you can steal from your enemy (hence the horses/statues). The farm type area of where the players start is an after thought. The map is designed with the left general getting a cramped feeling base. But, defended on all points (if played well). The right general gots space, but he also has more territory to defend and the left general gots more fronts to attack from.

disadvantages. Try it against a hard AI opponent, it's quite fun. There is a garrisonable train that goes round the map. There are unmanned vehicles and other goodies for you to find. These include a very destructive Nuke cargo truck, an unmanned Boss dozer (not to be confused with the not unmanned civilian dozers which repair civilian buildings), and 2 PT boats. There are unmanned base defences near the train bridge for you to garrison. Some civilian buildings in your base have crates inside. Garrison then exit from them to pick them up. There is a map.ini file which modifies some objects. If you get mismatch errors in multiplayer games, rename it to map.off or just delete it. The map is playable without the map.ini, it just adds more features, like: map.ini features: ================= TechOilDerrick self repairs TechArtilleryPlatform can be upgraded to have nuke cannon's weapons GuardTower and WoodTower self-repair, and have built in machine guns that the garrisoned troops can fire in addition to their own guns CivilianBunker01 self repairs Trains have special flak wagons with quad cannon guns. Garrison some infantry in these to activate them. They have a small speaker tower effect too. Train engine can be garrisoned. Anthrax bomb and nuke missile poison fields clear the shroud so you can see what is dying in them. The Nuke cargo truck will call in a carpet bomber when it detonates, and it also creates a firestorm. You can also disguise it like a bomb truck. CivilianVehiclePTBoat is armed with long range missiles Windmills generate 10 power, garrison them to get the power.

You'll see battles over the bridges (which allow the bottom player to control 75% of the map), but most of the map will not be used. To win on this map, use plenty of Comanches because their mobility and the size of this map makes an excellent combination.

However, even if you are not into making mods, you can still use this map to test various special powers and superweapons that are in the game (or in mods that you install). You may, for example, use this map to test the accuracy of a delivery payload of bombs: does it drop on target? Airforce general's carpet bombs tend to fall short for example - the OCL that calls them could be improved. The map lets you do this by placing a target area down range from your base, in line with your command centre (where your special power planes come from). The target area is populated by target vehicles so you can see the effectiveness or not of your weapons. You can renew the targets on the range in the game. Scripts give you lots of generals points to spend and free sciences from the start. See the readme file for more information and a tutotial on how to use this map in ini editing. Map comes with an example map.ini which changes the A10 strike to use cluster bombs, but you can improve how this works in the tutorial.
