Duel Arena Yavin

Description:

The first thing I noticed about this map was the lighting. I wondered if perhaps it was an open arena, with sunlight pouring in, but I was surprised to find that it was completely enclosed, and was

just incredibly bright. There are a few torches in the room, but by no means would they produce light of that magnitude. So the first thing to work on for next time would be realistic lighting. The texturing's not too bad. It actually reminded me of the Valley of the Jedi, moreso than Yavin, but the two are relatively similar. The texturing does get a little repetitive, though, and if it weren't for the bits of reddish brown offsetting all the yellow brown, I'd have gotten quite tired of it rather quickly. As stated in the read-me, this map was intended for dueling. It has a main raised section, which is just high enough off the ground to walk under, with a secondary raised section on one side for spectators. While the main section is probably large enough for duels, it's still quite confining. The map itself is very boxy, based almost entirely on squares with very little geometric variation, which makes for somewhat boring architecture.
